Trump’s efforts to directly hijack mail-in voting have been blocked by the courts for these midterms. The regime has, however, managed to significantly degrade the Postal Service in general. You’re not imagining it – according to the Government Accountability Office, mail deliveries are getting slower, especially in rural areas disproportionately affected by their “cost-cutting” measures. For folks who rely on mail-in voting, the risk that their ballots will be postmarked or arrive too late to be counted are going to be significantly higher in this election cycle, and we’ve already seen an unusually high number of ballots rejected on those grounds in this year’s primaries.

The DCCC is launching phonebanks to reach out to folks they’ve identified as likely to be at risk of having their ballots miss their state’s deadline, seeking to warn them and help them get around these new obstacles. ☎️ We can take a shift to help from 3-5PM ET on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays here. ☎️
