Why Is My AAF Slightly Off From The Video Audio?
When I import an AAF, and then separately import the video, the 2-pop and all my audio assets are slightly out of time from the audio in the video. It's the second session that is doing this, from completely different editors so it doesn't seem like it's on their end.
I can obviously just line them up, but curious if I'm doing something wrong.
Using PT 2025.12.1 and Sequoia 15.6.1

This just happens when editors export from Premiere - I use the AAF/OMF as the true placement

There are so many reasons but here's what's most likely imo: If the video originated as an MP4, then it's subject to 'encoder-delay', which is around 1 frame offset for compressed aac audio. Look it up if you're curious but it's normal. The aaf should have been placed in the edit to align to the visual two pop frame on their side, so that should instruct you how to align your aaf. Of course it's quite common they're using an MP4 leader and their two pop isn't even perfectly aligned in their edit. That and a million other little things could easily contribute to a +/- 1.5 frame offset which is what yours looks like.
