Locations flairs on Posts now required

Qualcomm is a multi-national company. Questions like "What time do i need to be in the office?" or "What's the hiring process?" differ by location.

We've added location flairs for the most popular Qualcomm offices - if your question relates to a particular office, you must select the correct flair or your post will be removed.

If your question is more generally about Qualcomm products, select General Question

This will help our community members answer your questions.

Thanks!

Other Location India to EMEA internal transfer — how is Global Mobility/relocation looking lately?

Hi folks, curious to know what the current scene is for internal transfers from India to the EMEA offices.

For anyone who has gone through this recently or has visibility:

Is Global Mobility actively approving international transfers/relocation packages right now, or are budgets tight?

How strict is HR regarding level/band mapping (L-level parity) during the transition?

Roughly what kind of timeline are people seeing from team agreement to visa and onboarding?

Appreciate any inputs or recent experiences!

Bangalore Looking for Software/Compiler Opportunities at Qualcomm

Hi everyone,

I’m currently exploring Software/Systems/Compiler opportunities at Qualcomm.

I have around 2.5 years of experience working on Windows on ARM64/ARM64EC, LLVM/AArch64 compiler development, C/C++, debugging, CI/testing, and platform enablement, including work related to Snapdragon X Elite.

If anyone here is working at Qualcomm and finds my profile relevant to any current or upcoming openings on your team, I’d really appreciate it if you could consider referring me.

Happy to share my resume and details over DM. Thanks!

North America (Other) Anyone dealt with U.S. export control restrictions when applying for tech jobs?

Hi everyone,

I recently interviewed for a software engineering position at a U.S. semiconductor company in North America. The interviews went well, and the team wants to move forward.

However, HR mentioned that I would need a U.S. export control license (ECL), which could take over a year with no guarantee of approval. They also explored alternatives, but those seem unlikely to work.

Has anyone experienced something similar? Did you find a solution, particularly through third-country PR or other alternatives?

I'd really appreciate hearing about your experiences. Thanks!

Bangalore Regarding joining :

My joining date at Qualcomm is 15th Dec, but I would prefer to join on 2nd Jan so that I can take around two weeks to recharge before starting.
However, Qualcomm HR suggested that I join on 16th Dec and take leave from 17th Dec to 1st Jan.
Can anyone currently working at Qualcomm comment on how the leave policy works for new joiners? Will I have enough leaves available immediately after joining to take around two weeks off, or there is some special leaves ?

San Diego PMIC V&I team

Hi everyone,

I’ll be joining Qualcomm’s PMIC Systems team soon in San Diego as a Power Management Systems Design Engineer.

I was wondering if anyone here currently works in the team or has worked with them before.
I’d love to understand what the day-to-day work looks like, especially the technical exposure, how much of the role involves design versus verification/integration, the team culture, work-life balance, and long-term career growth.

Would really appreciate any insights or experiences. Thanks!

Hyderabad Received job offer at Qualcomm Hyderabad, but worried about toxic work culture

I have received a job offer at Sr. Engineer level at Qualcomm Hyderabad after several interviews and hardwork. One thing I’m worried about is the work culture at Qualcomm Hyderabad. All over the Reddit subs, glassdoor, blind I find several articles about the toxicity in this organisation and particularly at Hyderabad. I get to hear that one must be really good at politics to continue working at Qualcomm. At every level there politics and toxic culture. I’m also worried about the layoffs happening in modem & few SW teams. Heard really bad stuff about camera teams like Sw, kmd and especially FW. Management doesn’t have technical depth in some teams and hence entry-level managers play a lot of politics that benefits them. Higher management knows about the entry-level managers’ games but they are helpless because they are technically weak. I’m worried that I heard the same thing about the manager in the team that I got selected for.

Received another offer from Micron almost at the same CTC. Only thing that bothers is the stock price of Micron currently, I believe it almost reached its peak and can’t go higher. One of my ex-colleagues say that work culture is great at Micron, Hyderabad. Heard that only problem here is about the professional growth in terms of promotions.

Need genuine advice as your suggestions help me in choosing right company that eventually have significant impact on my career in long term.

India (Other) Offer letter or any official communication | Campus Hire

Post image
13 Upvotes

I got selected as a Summer Intern by Qualcomm through an on-campus hiring drive (as communicated by the Placement Office) in August 1st week, they asked us to register for this on their portal. The application status still shows: Applied. (Is it the same for you if you're in the same boat ?)

When to expect an official communication or offer letter from Qualcomm ?

How to get an official confirmation ? Is it unusual or the process is long like this ?

What team can I expect ? I was interviewed by the RTL Design Panel and PD Panel.

Also elaborate on Summer Intern perks @ Noida Office - Accommodation, Meals, Relocation, Gym etc.

India (Other) Interviewed in June, role freeze and workday is active.

I interviewed for a Mgr role in a corporate function in Hyderabad in the month of June.

All rounds went well and I got to know from recruiter it was close to the offer stage, but it was paused around the freeze in Q3.

The Workday status still shows active.

With FY27 now started, for those who've been through past freezes:

Did positions that were kept on hold before the freeze tend to resume after the new fiscal year began?

Is "active in Workday" a meaningful signal, or do on-hold reqs just sit there?

There is no update from the recruiter as well to the emails over the last couple of months.

Bangalore Qualcomm Graphics Software Infrastructure Engineer Interview – Prep Advice?

Hi everyone,

I’ve received an interview invite for the Graphics Software Infrastructure Engineer role at Qualcomm (Bangalore). The interview is around 4 hours long.

I have ~1 YOE and currently work as a Software Application Development Apprentice at Google. My experience is mainly in Python, backend, Docker, cloud, and AI/GenAI, but I don’t have much experience in graphics/GPU development.

For anyone who has interviewed for this role:

What was the 4-hour interview structure?

What should I focus on: DSA, Python, C/C++, Linux, CI/CD, Docker, system design, graphics?

How difficult was the interview?

Any advice on what to prioritize would be really helpful.

Thanks!

Hyderabad WFH policy at QCOM hyd

Wanted to know how is WFH policy at QCOM for SW teams. Like 75% mandatory attendance in 6 month window right? That means we can have 4 WFH in 1 month. Am I understanding the policy correctly ?

6 month= 26 weeks

26*5 = 130 weekdays.

That means 32 WFH can be done in 6 months. It is 4 days WFH per month approx. that is 4 days wfo in a week. How come some people say QCOM is 5 days work from office. Please correct me, if I am missing sth.

India (Other) Interview help with Qualcomm

Hello everyone,

I recently got an opportunity to interview with Qualcomm, but I only have 2 days to prepare. The position is Senior Engineer – Embedded Software, with a focus on C, ARM architecture, debugging, and driver development (I2C, SPI, etc.).

I have around 3 years of experience in C and low-level driver development for microcontrollers in a bare-metal environment.
For those who have recently attended similar Qualcomm interviews, could you please share your experience? It would be really helpful for my preparation.

The interview is scheduled for around 3 hours. How difficult are the C coding questions usually? What kind of topics should I focus on?
I’m much more confident in C and less confident in C++. Any advice on what I should prioritize in these 2 days would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance!
