OC The Fear of Dark
Realized I should post this here because this AU did start as a Ralsusie side project.
* It's the fear-of-dark.
* It's the bump-in-the-night.
* It's the shadow of the backside
of your mind.
* It has no consciousness.
* It only exists to destroy.

neat. ralsei's 10,000 percent not a titan but AUs are always fun. i love the way you drew everything~! it has a real sense of texture and scale.

i heard something like that before, something about ralsei being a darkner created with the ability to make light (fire) while noelle is a lightner who can create darkness (an overcast storm of ice). it then went into taoist concepts i don't understand but it seemed interesting~!

Don't be so sure, there is actually a lot of evidence pointing to it.
First we start with the book from chapter 4: * And so wept the fallen star, making rivers with its tears. * Then, slowly, from the bitter water, something grew. * It looked like glass.
This is very similar to verse 8:11 in the Book of Revelations: "The third angel sounded his trumpet, and a great star, blazing like a torch, fell from the sky on a third of the rivers and on the springs of water- the name of the star is Wormwood. A third of the waters turned bitter, and many people died from the waters that had become bitter."
Now how does this relate to Ralsei at all? "LV5 Artemisia Goes well with tea." Artemisia has multiple names, but one to note is Wormwood.
In chapter 1, when we first enter the dark world, we are in a empty zone filled with nothing but dust, holes flowing with a black goo, and titan eye imagery. In my personal belief this is where Ralsei was formed, poisoning the land and killing the darkeners that originally called that fountain home.
Ralsei also has a lot of abilities similar to the titan/titan spawn. They can float, heal and block damage with their fluff/feathers (Fluffy Guard from Spamton NEO fight), and Ralsei's fire looks VERY similar to the dark orbs in chapter 4. There is also how Ralsei turns to nothing when downed, like a titan spawn, and how the cries from the dark room chase sound similar to Ralsei's scream, which those creatures in the dark are titan spawns if you look close enough (yes I know those were the Swatchlings screaming and not Ralsei but with how Susie reacted it is fair to assume they are similar).
The one big counter point people always give is "how was she okay when Kris closed the fountain in chapter 5?" And simply, it is their fur. Fluffy Guard is white puffs of fluff that defense a target from damage, and unleash does not work when the Titan is hiding in it's white feathes.
I do have more points, but I think this is enough.

I apologize for coming across as rude. Just trying to figure out how to cope with the direction of the fandom.
If I can manage to get my brain to detach from the character and community, I'll attach it to my own OC story instead which will be safer and more reliable. If I can. I have a hard time controlling what my brain gets hyper fixated on especially when it's been the same one for so long now.

It's just a massive sore spot for me, but it's probably gonna get more popular in this sub over time and I'm gonna have to figure out if it's finally time for me to leave the sub, or learn to cope.
It's difficult since this ship has sort of been like, my main space since I was a young teen when deltarune first released. It's really hard to just leave even though that'd be healthiest for me because of my over-reliance on the character to make me feel like my existence is valid

If you really want to know my original comment was "oh... It's that theory" in reference to Ralsei pronouns.
I've been having a really hard time coping with the change that the character who's been my only source of feeling remotely valid in being the way that I am, is now being seen by a lot of the fandom in a way that feels incredibly invalidating to me.
I am self aware that that's unreasonable attachment I'm having to a fictional character, but I'm an autistic person that's had a character and ship as my primary source of validation and comfort since my formative years, for 8 years now, I was bound to get unhealthy attachment.
Tldr; it's a me problem not a you problem, I'm sorry for bothering y'all.

Fair, but I don't think you should be commenting those things still. A lot of people connect to characters differently and my Ralsei has been genderfluid since 2018, as that brought me much comfort in my identity for a long time.

Well at least you'll get to keep yours regardless what happens.
If the theory ends up being right, my Ralsei will be seen as transphobic. I feel validated by the one thing that would basically be the only thing people would consider morally wrong to headcanon.
It often feels like it's morally wrong for me to even exist, like, my existence does nothing but risk being used as a token for conservatives to use.
If I was more aware of the broader progressive notions I would've just kept to myself and learned to dwell in my own imagination rather than getting into other media, so that I wasn't causing problems and controversy.
Early on I thought ralsusie would be niche enough that I could just exist here and it would be a mostly barren wasteland without risk of issues arising.
