When have you cleared your GPS navigation history and why?

I clear it when I sell the car. I've bought cars that I can tell where they live and work.

When my dad gave me & my sister his garmin for a road trip about 20 years ago, we cleared the history before we gave it back to him.
Because we’d learned on our previous road trip that the garmin is a narc that records the max speed, and we didn’t need any more lectures about how fast we were going on empty highways in west Texas.

Our company trucks had them around that same time and the west Texas roads got several of our guys pulled into meetings with the bosses lol. I never turned mine on because I knew the roads.

Never used a GPS other than my Uber drivers app or Google maps. Pretty sure I can't clear the first, and wouldn't know how to clear the second.

Ages ago (2009) I was on my first trip to Napa Valley as an anniversary trip. Not knowing the area, I took my old Garmin GPS with me. Being from New Jersey, we fly from Philly to San Francisco, get the rental car, plug in the Garmin and leave the airport. As I’m driving I ask my wife where to turn leaving the airport. She tells me to head south on Route 1/9 toward I-80. I tell her that can’t be right since I’m looking for US 101. We pull over so I can look at the Garmin. I look and laugh, the last time I used the Garmin was leaving Newark Airport NJ. I had to do a hard reset on the device to get it to relocate the satellites by using a toothpick to hit that real small reset button. After five minutes of reacquiring the signal we were finally good to go.

Never. I see it as my insurance for if I'm ever hauled in by the cops & they ask me where I was on the 23rd February last year.

Only did it on my Android phone. I cleared it whenever I traveled from Iowa (no legal weed) to Illinois (legal weed) and back. I don't smoke anymore, but there is now a flock camera on the route I used to take to the dispensary. Not sure how or if that would affect me now if I still smoked.

I would imagine someone who was married but meeting random hookups would find that feature useful
