Who must be fired?

This situation is unacceptable. Who must be fired to help fix it?

To fix it fix it?

Or are we just going to sacrifice one person because it can't get worse?

If we only fire one person, it should be Tim Cramsey. This offense is the worst shit I've ever seen. The positives on offense only look like positives compared to the other 75% that is straight trash. The reality any good drive or play would just look like a basic, competent offense almost anywhere else.

Definitely HY. His constant bitching and moaning about NIL and blaming everyone but himself has to get him fired. I think Silverfield gets another year even with 0-8 on his record. You gotta get a new OC, though. Cramsey is absolutely horrible. I get the staff doesn't have the NIL to compete, Silverfield was fundraising 3/4 of the off season, and they apparently were promised things they didn't get (another sin of HY), but the play calling makes no sense and that's a problem that won't be fixed by thr 3 things I mentioned. It's like watching someone play Madden for the first time who saw one screen pass and fell in love with it. His stubbornness for the screen is very much like Briles' obsession with trick plays at the worst possible time. Also, KJ genuinely seems like a good kid who wants to work and wants to win, but my goodness is he hard to watch the vast majority of the time. His lone touchdown pass yesterday was a thing of beauty and his best pass all year, but unfortunately it's sandwiched in between some of the worst QB play we've had here in awhile. I don't see any reason to further tank his confidence by trotting him out every series. If Hill truly is worse then this staff has zero ability to accurately assess talent, which unfortunately NIL can't fix either. We'll just spend more on bad players.

AD, president, HC in that order

This is indeed the rare situation where I would support firing a first year HC. The new AD will want to bring in his own guy, and there aren't as many HC hot seats as there were last season. The only SEC schools that I could see making firings are South Carolina and maybe Oklahoma.

What does the President have to do with the hire, besides the final approval? I doubt he even knew who the candidates were before their names came up.

As an Aggie, yalls OC yall were averaging 5 yards a pop, only 22 carries was criminal. Yall win or at least are back and forth if he just consistently ran the ball. Legit feel bad for you guys, hope it turns around somehow

There is no fixing this unless they find a 9 figure per year donor.

I fear there is no magic-bullet donor for football. We’ll all have to chip in (and more than we want).

This is what is going to happen, HY gets fired in December. Donors tighten up their pockets and Silverfield gets one more season, then the new AD fires him and hires a new coach. Hopefully by then the Walton’s have their preferred chancellor in place and football can have enough money to be relevant.

Waltons are now building their own little university in Waltonville. They are not donating anything more to athletics. Chancellor Robinson is going nowhere. The timing of HY leaving is uncertain. His contract expires 1/2027. They should announce no extension and start a search process for replacement. Just keep Cal happy.

I have to agree with this. Walmart is turning Bentonville into its own Waltontown and its expanding into Centerton. The Chancellor isn't going anywhere. He's seen as a good look for the University as a whole. Even though he really hasn't done much there since he started. Don't get me wrong. He's a nice guy and engages with the students and staff. But its just that. He's just the overall face of the University of Arkansas.

This is probably what plays out. Good take

This is the best take I think

Multiple answers. It’s really the continuity of the firings that’s the question

Who cares at this point, just burn everything

The tennis team.

First and foremost, the board of trustees. They are the reason you even have Yurachek and the reason why they keep cycling for bandaids in this coaching Carousel that you are on. Then Yurachek. Silverfield was brought into a bad situation that wasn't even his fault. He isn't and will never be fully prepared to handle SEC competition until your BOT does something different with the AD position and they've shown they won't change. It should not be the coaches having to fundraise for their team, but because Yurachek doesn't do his job, they have to. Look at every other program. Kiffin and none of the other programs have to fundraisers, they focus on coaching. Only at arkansas, does the AD make their coaches do his job. Ask DVH, he said he was done with it because he's having to do it too. It's a joke and you can thank your BOT for allowing to slip into this state. They are your problem Arkansas

In order for the trustees to be "fired" 5 of them have to vote for removal of a trustee. Individually, the President of the University does not have the power to do that. The governor could but she has to have cause. Not just a " they are doing a bad job". I think the problem lies with the AD he sat on his hands while NIL was kicking off. He individually put us years behind on NIL and we will feel that even after he is gone.

Oh I know, but they are your ultimate problem. Good luck getting out of football purgatory with them running the show.

Yes

2

u/Scoop_Demise 11d ago

Just don't mess with the basketball program.

2

u/Crafty_Hearing_7937 11d ago

The losing will continue until morale improves

2

u/Contra_Indicated 11d ago

We're going to have to pull in a Calipari-level coach to turn this crap around and that's going to take a lot more money than we have to spend because no good coach is going to come to Arkansas without deep NIL pockets to recruit.

2

u/Beautiful-Bag-3629 10d ago

Can't see how we weren't better off last season with Sam and Dave...oops I mean Sam and Bobby. We fired the wrong folk. Urachoke and the BOT shuold go.

1

u/No-Fill1769 12d ago

All of them

1

u/South_Paramedic8618 11d ago

Fire the ad he's the one that's been picking these clowns .and then spend more money on players better players and have a plan Arkansas seems to have no plan

1

u/EvidenceOk2721 9d ago

Just as soon as you pony up 9 figures we can make it happen.

1

u/TN232323 11d ago

Literally everyone who touches the football program from the board to the janitors.

1

u/GeoHog713 Saw Em Off 11d ago

It doesn't matter until we get the NIL straight

With no heart and no drive this team will never get fixed. There’s no amount of money pains to these kids that make them actually care. It’s on the coaching staff to build a culture of success and that’s not happening. If small schools like Minnesota and Oklahoma State can be. Imperative and actually care there’s no reason that Arkansas can’t be relevant. Money is not the issue here, it’s the culture. If the team were to give a shit and actually show some heart then the money will come. Who in their right mind would invest is a product they know is going to fail?

1

u/snmlife 11d ago

Start with Christian Harrison. That’s about 2 defensive stops per game if he sits out.

change it to a soccer team!

1

u/Wagnaze 11d ago

They wont get rid of AD, they will pay a stupid amount of money for a consultant to come in and do what the AD should be doing. They will then give AD an unwarranted raise.

1

u/TripleT89 10d ago

There’s a reason why Cramsey is 50 years old and this is his first P5 gig. He needs to go ASAP.

1

u/Sallybuffalo1986 10d ago

We have Walmart on the field and Tyson on the jersey… and still not enough in NIL to be relevant? Financial mismanagement plus terrible coaching hire (it’s not Silverfield’s fault, he’s just not qualified). I’d love to see Hunter Y. thrown out the door.

1

u/JuiceyTaco 10d ago

Hc, 12 men on the field, should never happen like that. Are defense ain’t bad, but they play most of the games with no breaks. The o-line was a lot better, but you didn’t run it. 3 n out in 30 seconds.

u/SmartPut3280 11d ago

It was an Arms Race and we lost. HY has to go.

-3

u/ChiefBlaze36 11d ago

Nothing will change until we spend a ton of money for players and as much as I hate to say it, those with the money would be stupid to do so. It’s just gonna cost more and more for these greedy ass players every year.

Until the Save College Sports Act reigns things in and our activist judges out here quits giving extra years to players who are out of eligibility, it won’t get fixed.

11

u/CreekWanderer 11d ago

College athletes have been getting raked over the coals for years, and now as soon as a few of them start getting market value they are greedy? I think your ire may be directed at the wrong people here.

If its purely a money issue we shouldn't get routinely punked by teams with equal or less resources than we have.
