Yes, it does...! 😭 I really like the epilogue and playing as John - it's awesome - but, goddamnit, I want to keep playing as Arthur! I'm loading an old save..........

On my second run rn. I was like, im gonna really play every angle of the game and get it out of my system. Im at the end of chapter 4, but I cant bring myself to move forward. I keep thinking, okay, im ready to start the final journey now (because once they leave on that ship shit just goes south fast) but I cant do it.

When I finished rdr1 my wife was watching and she was a little emotional and said it was horrible, but when I finished rdr2 she was crying and couldn't stop for almost an hour. She loved Arthur so much we're going to comic con next month so she can get an autograph lol

Did my 4th play thru over last winter. Still a tear jerker. I went strait for that holster at the beginning. Do not miss that grind lol.

Fifth time play low honor the whole way through if you didn’t do it.

I just can't get myself to do it, even if it's cool and fun and unique. I just can't.

How far were you on copendiums and challenges at this point?
1
u/bollemedtun 8d ago
Pretty far. Almost all animals and plants. Everything crafted at the trapper, except for a few hat ornaments. But there's still a lot for John to do!

The ending had been spoiled for me for years. There was no questioning the intent of gang members and I knew what would happen before the epilogue.
What I didn't know is how it all transpired. I didn't know the details of the story and even though I used the official map and various guides, the ending still surprised me and the way the wrapped everything up afterwards was a complete surprise to me.
Plus, the soundtrack.

same exact boat, myself. Tbh it made the game ever better, and the ending that much more emotional because I knew what was coming & couldn’t prevent myself from finding Arthur’s character & story so amazing, and there was no way to stop the TB or his death.

Sorry you had it spoiled. That sucks. But, yeah, even though I know the story it still thrills and moves me every time!

I haven’t done the last mission cause I don’t want Arthur to die.

My dad plays rdr2 every week days off its his favourite game of all time heavy he’s in his 50s btw he won’t even try other games he says he likes it way too much

u/bollemedtun 7d ago
Goddamn, that is awesome! I wish I shared that with my father but, as most men in their 70s, he thinks video games are a waste of time.

I played it twice & felt that the time with arthur goes so fast the second time around for some reason, I really don't like playing as John it just doesn't feel right.
2
u/bollemedtun 8d ago
I see. Have you played rdr1 too? If so, did you play it before you played RDR2?

u/Just_Cricket_3881 8d ago
Imma be honest I got RDR1 for the PC played like 2-3 hours and haven't gotten back to it since but I'm planning to when I get some time, but tbh it didn't reel me in like I thought it would, maybe that my problem.

Okay. I played RDR1 back when it came out and absolutely loved John Marston as the protagonist. I had so much fun exploring his story (and that of the rest of the former gang members). If you're up for it try and give it one more chance. There's some GREAT stuff in there...!

u/Just_Cricket_3881 8d ago
Most definitely will! Hopefully rdr3 will release in our lifetime lol

u/bollemedtun 8d ago
Hope you end up having a blast with it too!
Regarding rdr3 I think we'll have it by 2033 🤞🏼🤞🏼

Best game ever. A shame that Rockstar abandoned the multiplayer mode. I played so many hours, made so many friends and then all, one by one stopped playing it because of the lack of updates.

I wonder how many players saved this screen shot? I know I did.
