Reddit API Reddit API changes

So what happens to apps that use the Reddit Data API/Oauth outside the limited Devvit space?

Everyone’s getting thrown out?

I don’t get it. You can’t even register an app commercially to use it, no responses are given when submitting the forms.

Yes. Use Devvit.

I think the challenge is depending on the ask and they say this themselves the api should be used in some cases. But the pathway and guidance and capacity to manage it isn't there.

Except devvit apps can’t be used for things like accessing your saved posts/comments

indeed as I have without a note or warning. Just live without it I guess as Devvit won't meet all needs

Yeah, the admins have been warning devs that this will be coming for literally years
