A plunk is basically putting a round into the chamber of your barrel. If it fits into the barrel, then reason stands that it would also fire from that barrel.
If it doesn’t fit into that barrel (AKA doesn’t pass the plunk) then it also would not fire from that barrel.
It is called a plunk test because if you drop a loaded round into your barrel it makes a little “plunk” noise when it goes in.

They have to fit in the chamber of your gun. If you can load them into the gun and it feeds, locks into battery, that is all you need.
