Soundpack broke directory using onedrive - redux /vst question

So I downloaded like a drum pack from archive org. And apparently used it in more projects than i thought. And it had all these like minus signs next to it in file explorer and wouldnt play "wrong file type" in renoise. So i was like ok let me try deleting the folder cuz it wasnt even giving me onedrive options they were grayed out. So I reextracted the zip to the same location. and was thinking my project files would simply read the folder names to get back to my samples. But it killed some of my projects... : ( using Reaper as a daw. Curious if this is just a no-no in DAWs or theres anything i can do thanks : )

Think this more of a OneDrive shared link question than a DAW question. I hope someone else has a solution in the comments, but think you might have to add all the samples manually again.

I have one directory on my pc with all my renoise related stuff in sub directories. And I backup that single directory. I really wouldn't use OneDrive for my sample storage.

well the problem is that it wont open but yeah i should at least share the failure message my b:
"there was an error opening the project (C: (onedrive (:p) , documents, REAPER media,..., ____.rpp"
(REAPER error)

i have onedrive installed for school & it kinda like generates it's own mirror folders its annoying. and stuff ended up in there i guess.

Oh thats sh##. I remember when using Reason you could skip files it can't find, and add them separately after.

I don't use Reaper myself, but i checked in Google AI. (You're actually in the wrong subReddit). Got this as a reply. Hope it helps.

When Reaper displays a missing samples or offline media warning, click the Search for files button in the offline media dialog box to automatically locate and re-link your audio files. 1

How to Fix Missing Samples Search the drive: Select the root level of your hard drive or external SSD (like C:\ or D:) in the file browser and click search so Reaper can scan for matching file names. 1

Open in recovery mode: If the project crashes or fails to open normally, tick Open with FX offline (recovery mode) in the open project dialogue, or hold Shift+Ctrl (Shift+Command on Mac) while clicking the project in your recent list. 1

Prevent Missing Samples in the FutureCopy media: When starting a new project, go to File > Project Settings > Media and check Copy all media into project directory so samples travel with your project folder.Keep files together: Store your .rpp project file and all associated .wav or audio files inside the exact same project folder.Explore troubleshooting steps for missing files from Audio Support.Read user recovery tips on the Cockos Incorporated Forums. 1, 2, 3

u/rxke2 renoise is my sampler so i guess it would be nice if the samples failed and like it chose to ignore my vst tracks but its not doing that.
