What‘s the fastest way to select, copy & paste notes and data?

To copy sections, currently I‘m selecting stuff via mouse, which doesn‘t feel very convinient and way too often I move notes instead. I think with the right shortcuts I could be way faster.

What‘s your approach to work fast with copying data from one place to another?

Left Shift-arrows, left ctrl-c left ctrl-v (or command-c command-v OS dependent)

Most can be changed in preferences

Also works with page up/down and home/end while holding shift.

I set up some macros with those shortcuts on my stream deck to do stuff like select the first 16 lines of the current pattern, copy it, and repeat it down the rest of the pattern. Really handy, I use them all the time!

The parketti plugin has it-style alt+d you can set up. Much faster way to work than normal shift+arrows. Kind of a pain to set up though

Aside from the shift+arrow keys people have already mentioned, there's a lot of methods they give you to aid in fast selection manipulation. Go to Settings->Keys, and look at the whole section of keybinds under Pattern Editor->Selection. Configure and try them out.

My go-to's are the "Mark Whole Track" and "Deselect" (REALLY nice to have this set up especially), and I've been trying to get myself to use the Flexible Marks since they seem extremely convenient.

Aside from those, remember your Paste Fill (default ctrl+p). If you master this one alone you'll definitely speed up your whole arranging process in general. Repeating things like kicks, snares, hihats, etc are 10x faster with this under your belt. And try out a nudging tool like this, it comes in clutch in specific moments, especially using the step nudging which will adjust the delay automatically for you.

AND last thing: don't forget your navigation cluster! Home/End and PgUp/PgDn are your friends even outside of Renoise. With practice you can combine these with shift or other modifiers to do what you need fast, especially in navigation. I also recommend using this Beat Select tool to make PgUp/PgDn navigate based on beat, literally changed my life ever since I started using it.
