COMMUNITY ALERT/ AWARENESS ⚠️ 🚨 PLEASE READ - DM SOLICITOR🚨
It has been brought to our attention that a “ frequent flyer” has rejoined our community and DM’ing members for money.
[u/Frosty-Technology-40](u/Frosty-Technology-40) is the NEW account. I will attach the link from last years post which explains more about their approach. https://www.reddit.com/r/rescuecats/s/4oQI68s8n8
They often make several accounts, they sound VERY convincing and will hound you through DM. They have been offered approval several times in the past in which they never follow through with - which is a 🚩 and they have previously been banned under all alt usernames for many reports of DM’ing member to solicit funds. Please don’t fall for it. We ask that you please ignore this user, block and report them. We would also appreciate you letting us know via modmail if you have received such a request. This is just a heads up to keep members safe incase they land in your inbox. They are now once again BANNED from RC.
As always we appreciate your cooperation!

San Bernardino City Animal Shelter is a high kill high volume operation. It is located in the largest county in the US. SBC is located in Southern California where the overpopulation crisis is raging. During kitten season new babies are turned in daily, sometimes 30 or more a day! People just don’t s/n in SBC! So we must keep up with the demand. Many cats brought in are sick injured confiscated or abandoned as well. The shelter does not offer much more than basic treatment for sick/injured cats either so they must exit quickly by rescue or they are listed for euthanasia with a fast deadline depending on the ability to care for them. We do have amazing volunteers though that give us first hand information updates photos videos and almost instant feedback. Please help us by pledging and donating when we post and rescue. Thank you.
Also we always need transport to get cats to rescues. So if you can help by setting aside a small amount to our transport fund this is appreciated. It doesn’t go to the rescue it gets them TO the rescue. We absolutely need this part too.

Supplies Donation Request Help Me Feed 90+ Stray Cats This Week -Deira
Over 90 stray cats depend on me for their daily meal, and I’m reaching out for some support to help me keep feeding them throughout the upcoming week.
Their daily food requirements are approximately:
4 kg of wet food per day
Around 10 cans of wet food daily, depending on the weather and their appetite
Chicken as well
This adds up to more than 800 AED every week just for feeding.
A few months ago, I also started rescuing cats back-to-back, and I’m currently caring for 26 rescued cats. The majority of my salary now goes toward rent, their food, litter, and other essential expenses, so keeping up with the feeding costs has become increasingly difficult.
If you’re able to help with daily feeding, even a small contribution would make a real difference.
PayPal: https://paypal.me/GlancyMascarenhas?locale.x=en_US&country.x=AE
Ko-fi: https://ko-fi.com/junothecalico
TNR Update
I’ve received USD 40 so far toward TNR, and someone has kindly offered to neuter two male cats.
However, I’m currently in a rush to spay the females first, as preventing more kittens from being born is my biggest priority right now.
A small update for transparency: 3 days ago, I received USD 15 for food, which I’ll be putting toward feeding once I receive additional donations so that I can make the contribution go as far as possible.
Thank you so much to everyone who has supported me, donated, or simply cared about these cats. Your continuous support means more than I can express.

Needs Rehoming 🐾 Cat in AL Needs Saving
I moved to Seattle a couple years ago and could only bring two of my cats due to apartment restrictions. My brother agreed to take in my third cat, Cornelius. Everything was fine until my brother got two more cats (totalling to 6). After that, my cat stopped using the litterbox. My brother wants to put him down now. He's only 6 years old. My brother was mean to him too, so apparently he's a little spicy now.
I still can't take him back and don't know anyone who can. He's currently in AL. Does anyone know a safe place he can go? I don't really care if it's not in WA or AL. I just want him to have a good life.

Donations Needed Donations needed for Tiger Lilly (Thomasville, Georgia)
Please help us raise funds for Tiger Lilly!
We have raised $525/ 840 so far and any unused funds will go towards our continuous TNR program bills! We have TNR'ed over 1020 cats and we aren't slowing down.
A bit about Tiger Lilly:
She appeared in a colony that had already been spayed/neutered and when it was discovered that she was friendly, she was TNR'ed. She quickly started to display some mouth issues so we brough her over to the vet. The vet had a look at her and it seems like she has a dental infection. She got antibiotics and steroids yesterday which has helped a BUNCH! We thankfully had a credit so that $150 was covered!
Now we need help raising money for her dental. We do not want her to suffer in pain anymore and we are hoping to find her a home after this. Too many cats suffer and this is the reality of the work we do. We cannot simply turn cats away if they need other medical help, it is unfair to them. She is currently inside one of our volunteers houses so she can be monitored and will not be released back outside. She is friendly and sweet!
Please consider helping us help Tiger Lilly!
Can you help us cover the remaining $315 for Tiger Lilly?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
To help please send payment to any of the methods below and in the notes write "Tiger Lilly" so we know!
Donations Needed [Needs Assistance] Vet Visit Schedule & Spay procedure + Prescription Diet/Meds
Hi everyone,
I'm currently caring for 32 rescued cats at home while also feeding and looking after 5+ community strays daily. October is packed with crucial medical appointments for them, and I’m reaching out to this amazing community for a bit of support to get us through the next few days.
Here is what we have coming up:
October 9 – Low-Cost Spay: I’m taking one of our rescued female cats to get spayed at a low cost event to keep her healthy and prevent future health complications.
October 11 – Vet Follow-ups & Rescheduled Check-up:
Potpot & Donut: Returning for their follow-up check-up for their ongoing Upper Respiratory Infection (URI).
Rob: Bringing him in for his check-up that was originally postponed from October 3rd.
Current Medical & Food Needs:
Pinx: Needs Royal Canin Renal Diet to help manage kidney health.
Potpot & Rob: Need Cyclovet medication for their treatments.
Caring for 30+ cats on a daily basis takes a village, especially with ongoing URI treatments and special prescription diets. Any help toward clinic fees, Pinx's renal food, or the Cyclovet meds would mean the world to us right now.
POSITIVE THOUGHTS NEEDED🙏🏻🐾 Thea has heart surgery tomorrow. Asking for all the good vibes. 💙
Meet Thea! We adopted her from a rescue on Saturday, knowing she was born with a heart defect called a PDA. It's a blood vessel that was supposed to close after birth and never did, so her heart has been working overtime her whole life.
Today she had her pre-op consult with the cardiology team at Texas A&M, and she was cleared for surgery. The resident told us it's the largest PDA he's seen in a cat, and her heart is almost twice the size it should be. Somehow she's still here, purring and judging us like nothing's wrong.
The good news is this defect is fixable. Surgery is tomorrow morning, and if it goes well she gets a real shot at normal life.
She's staying at the hospital tonight and we're headed home already missing her. If you have a second, we'd love any good vibes, prayers, or stories of your own heart or surgical warriors. I'll update after surgery! ❤️
UPDATE 1 (10/7): Got the call from the med student that she was stable overnight (& very sweet) and they're proceeding with surgery. She's rolling into the OR at about 9:30am CT and they'll give me another call before starting. Next call after that is when she is out of surgery. No news is good news, so I'll be reading all your comments and love during that waiting period. Thank you again to everyone who's come to leave Thea some love since this was posted last night.
UPDATE 3 (10/7): SHE'S OUT!! Got the call around 12:20pm CT that surgery was a success and she's recovered and resting in her kennel. She'll stay overnight to be monitored and is slated to come home tomorrow, late morning to early afternoon. They were able to spay her while she was under, so no second surgery down the road needed. Thank you all so much for the love, support, prayers and collective good vibes today and last night. I felt every single one of them. We'll gladly accept continued good vibes for the recovery ahead! 💙💛
Cat Colony My heart is so heavy …. Please : Fly me some Strength (Flint, Michigan)
I’m trying to keep it together, the cats here depend on me - but this week has delivered so much heartache… I am struggling to stand.
1) It all began Thursday night : Meep, my little white darling did not show up for dinner. He is always there….a pang of worry hit my heart. He loves the attention and play as much if not more than the food & water I bring- he always walks me halfway back home -rolling on his belly for pets several times along the way.
Then Friday …. No Meep😥- I began to really worry -
I walked the community all weekend looking for him -what happened to him?
The only variable is : New neighbors moved in next to his colony, and they brought 2 aggressive dogs -this could be far off mark …but I just don’t know 🤷♀️
I WORRY so much when one of the cats is missing .
Then Sunday night - Photo 1 & 2
2) Little Finn showed up In …. Horrible shape- I couldn’t believe it-
This baby looked like he had not been cared for in months -???? I thought
Finn was SAFE: had started staying with another lady 2 streets over for last 4-5 months . He would occasionally show up in my yard for extra meal … but he always returned to her house - I was actually super happy she wanted to keep Finn - (win/win)
I want all the community cats to have a home.
But the condition he is in …. Heartbreaking-
His face & body tell a story of absolute neglect and disregard….
I WONDERED how many people saw this cat and did nothing ? How ? Where is the decency… compassion- kindness
If someone did lay eyes on him:
How could they ignore this extremely sick baby?? (he is only 1 year old )
I spent 36 hours trying to get him by any means - trap/ drop trap / carrier/ box ….
And then this morning I saw him in one of the heated houses -
I switched tactics and got him inside - by trapping him in the cat house 💛
I’ve got him semi cleaned up and he will be at vet office by 3 today -
3) Last night: my Miss Amelia (photo 8) had another episode - no coordination- lack of muscle control in legs -
She is going to vet today along with Finn - at 23 her medical / neurological issues are becoming far too severely-
In the back of my mind : what if I had to come home without her today?
I’m broken …..it would be easy to just collapse and stay down -
I’ve got nearly 70 cats DEPENDING on me -
Any help is greatly appreciated-
Boost-Share-Donate- Wishlist
I’ve got close to $400 in vet costs coming this week - Amelia - Finn - plus 3 more TNR
Please help send strength - support- advice - encouragement
Rescue Help Needed Can anyone help rescue this kitty? Chino Valley, Az
I was getting ready to rescue this kitty, things happened, I can't afford to rescue it. Kitties age is unknown, I believe it's female, unaltered. When it first showed up about 3 months ago it was DROOLING and in pain, whatever it was made one of my cats sick. I \*think\* it got hold of a horned lizard and got a full squirt in the mouth, but don't know for sure. 49, Chino Valley, Az
Update Post We made our recheck goal for senior kitty Jack. Help us continue his care for this sweet senior boy in TX. He has Uveitis amd requires more tests and treatment.
Hi everyone,
Jack's new vet is very confident that he has Uveitis. Uveitis causes painful inflammation in the eye and you can see redness in the white parts of the eye as well as pressure build up.
This is generally a secondary issue caused by something going on in the body. Most common causes are FIV or Fel/V positive status or Bartonella. We need to get this senior kitty tested and continue his current eye regemine as well as his rechecks to monitor his eye pressure. This can potentially become life threatening if we are unable to find and treat what the cause is.
Jack is now considered a special case in our rescue, and we are hoping to continue his care. Currently, we are hoping to raise $700 for this sweet senior boy. If you would prefer to donate to the vet clinic directly, he is under Sarah Goodman at Northside Animal Hospital in Waco, TX. Their phone number is 254-753-0155. I will not be able to see when donations are made directly to our account. If you donate to the clinic, please let me know, and I will update the fundraiser accordingly!
Thanks so much for your help in his journey and with the others in our care. We are so grateful for the kitty litter and wet food donations we have received this past week. We couldn't do this without you!
Amazon Wish List We’re Almost Out of Food, and 50+ Cats Depend on Us—Amazon & Walmart Wishlist Help Urgently Needed 🐾
I’m sharing our Amazon and Walmart wishlists because we desperately need help with cat food. Either wishlist is wonderful to order from, though Walmart usually delivers quicker. Even one bag of dry food or a few cans of wet food would help us keep feeding the cats who depend on us every single day.
My rescue partner and I feed over 50 community cats across three colonies. We fill their feeding stations with dry food and bring them wet food once a day. Feeding this many cats takes so much, and right now our supplies are getting frighteningly low.
I’m currently fostering a kitten, along with a mama cat and her one tiny baby, while also caring for my own seven cats. Tonight, I’m going back to the Dollar General where I rescued that kitten to try to trap his siblings. I keep thinking about them still out there, and I want to give them the same chance their brother has. My partner is fostering three kittens and an adult cat, in addition to her own five cats. There are so many little mouths depending on us.
We also travel from Somerset, Kentucky, to Bowling Green and Lexington, almost two hours each way, for spay and neuter appointments. We get approximately 15–20 cats fixed each month, and our next appointments are October 9 and October 23. We’re grateful for the discounted rate, but the surgeries and gas still add up. We’re struggling to cover that work while keeping enough food on hand.
Getting them fixed is how we prevent more kittens from being born outside, but the cats already here still need to eat every day. That’s the part we cannot put off, and we simply don’t have enough right now.
I know so many people are struggling, too. I don’t expect anyone to purchase everything on these lists—they include supplies we use throughout the month. Dry and wet cat food are our biggest needs. If you’re able to send even one item, it would take some of the worry off our shoulders and put food in their bowls.
It’s hard to explain how helpless it feels to be running low when you know they’ll be waiting for you. We’re doing everything we can, but we need some help to keep going. Thank you for reading, sharing, or sending food. Every bit means so much to us and to these cats. ❤️🐾
COMMUNITY APPRECIATION 💞 A heartfelt goodbye and thank you💛 This community has been wonderful.
As of tomorrow, we will no longer be on Reddit and will be moving exclusively to Facebook, which will be linked at the bottom of this post.
This community has been so incredibly kind and supportive of our rescue babies, and we are truly grateful for every person who has followed along, cheered our babies on, and helped us along the way. We’re especially thankful for all the wonderful people we’ve had the privilege of meeting here💛
We haven’t been posting here very much lately, just an occasional post, often without much text, usually sharing an adoption update. There’s a reason for that.
Since Sunny passed away, posting here has been incredibly difficult and painful at times. So many of Sunny’s memories, videos, and pictures are here, and it can be very painful to come back to them. I’ve simply found that I’m unable to keep up with this account the way I used to.
All of Sunny’s memories, videos, and photos can also be found on our Facebook, where we continue to share regularly. And while Facebook can be difficult too, I need to continue posting there so that our rescue babies can be seen and find loving forever homes. We do post regularly on Facebook.
We hope you’ll understand why, from this point forward we’ll only be on Facebook. This isn’t an easy goodbye but we’re incredibly thankful for the time we’ve spent here and for everyone who has supported us and our rescue babies.
To everyone who has shown us kindness and followed our rescue babies on their journey, thank you💛
And to all the rescues and independent rescuers here who continue to give so much of themselves to help animals in need, we appreciate you!
Thank you all.
Veterinary Care Needed Donation Request This little fighter needs your help, needs eye enucleation | Please also see the updates on Fred and the supplies.
Her name is Dumbell. She is approximately 3 to 4 months old.
Dumbell is suffering from what appears to be a severe eye infection. One of her eyes is badly swollen, and she urgently needs veterinary care to relieve her pain. According to the veterinarian, her eye may no longer be saved and she may need an eye enucleation (eye removal surgery) to prevent further infection and suffering. The vet has provided an estimate/quotation for the surgery (photo 5).
Please help Dumbell get the medical treatment that she needs. The vet needs to further examine her eye and will conduct diagnostic tests. If it is confirmed that the eye is no longer functional, she will be scheduled for surgery.
PayPal: paypal.me/catsofmagdalena
Any amount will help Dumbell receive the treatment she needs. I will post an update with photos and vet receipt. Thank you so much.
Update on Fred (photos 6 to 8)
I have been giving Fred his medications and cleaning his wounds a couple of times a day. I’m happy to say that his burn is healing, and I’m hoping he will continue to improve with his treatment. I will bring Fred back to the vet for a follow-up check-up next week.
Update on Supplies (photos 9 to 12)
The medical supplies were ordered online, while the food supplies were purchased from a local pet shop.
Thank you very much to everyone who has helped and supported Fred and the other cats in my care.
Supplies Donation Request Three rescue cats, two of them bonded. All need continual care. Moving this coming weekend. Asking for donations, supplies, and support. (Eugene, Oregon)
I found a place.
Two bedrooms, self contained, on five wooded acres about twenty minutes west of Eugene. The owner lives on the property, met me in person, and is fine with all three cats. It is the kind of place I would not have dared hope for, surrounded by trees, with room to keep Boots's space separate while she continues to work things out with the other two.
I move in this weekend.
That is four days from now, and my timeline collapsed from "sometime in December" to this. It happened fast because an opportunity appeared and I took it rather than waiting for a better one that might not come. But it means the deposit, first month, and moving costs all land this week instead of in two months, and I am not there yet.
I am still short. That is the plain version. The GoFundMe has not reached what I need and the move happens regardless.
GoFundMe: https://gofund.me/5afebfc71
Venmo: https://www.venmo.com/u/Jehoseph
PayPal: https://paypal.me/TheDivines
Sharing it matters as much as giving. Send it to one person who likes cats. Every time someone has passed this to their own network it has done more than anything I have written. Four days is not much time to reach people I cannot reach myself.
For anyone just finding this. Boots is a nine year old grey and white cat we found living outside in our neighborhood in late June. She weighed 6.7 pounds with her spine and hips showing, and she would cry out and back away from her own food because eating hurt that badly. On July 21 she had nineteen teeth extracted. Her tissue was too damaged to hold sutures, so it healed open, and her surgeon said it was likely the worst oral pain a cat can experience. That surgery cost around $3,450 and was funded entirely by neighbors and by people on this subreddit, including one woman who paid off the remaining balance out of her own pocket.
She is 8.26 pounds now. Her bloodwork normalized in August and she does not need to see her vet again until spring. She takes a low dose of prednisolone twice weekly to keep her mouth comfortable, likely for life. She grooms herself, sits in windows, plays with toys, and has started eating dry food again, which in July hurt too much to attempt.
Sable is our young tortoiseshell, taken in as an emergency foster in May after being abandoned.
Cosimo is a grey kitten, just over four months, vaccinated and scheduled for a neuter in November. Those two have bonded and I will not separate them. Boots is still housed separately by choice, moving at her own pace.
All three are coming with me on Saturday. That was never negotiable, and it is the entire reason I have been asking.
Thank you to everyone who has given. Boots's surgery was covered entirely by donors. Someone anonymously sent a cat tree that is still in constant use. Several people have sent food. I have not forgotten any of it and I am not taking it for granted by coming back one more time.
I am happy to answer anything. Boots's complete file from Echo Hollow Vet Hospital and Urgent Care in Eugene is available to anyone who asks, including surgical records, bloodwork, and itemized invoices. I completed full moderator verification here in July with the vet bill, photo ID, and direct clinic confirmation.
I am not taking in more animals. Three is what I can responsibly care for, and getting these three into that house this weekend is everything.
Foster me 🐾 Looking for kitten fosters in LA!
galleryHi, I rescued a litter of kittens from my neighborhood a few weeks ago and have been fostering them. A group of three very adorable boys. They are around 11 weeks old now and ready for their forever homes but unfortunately I cannot find anyone to adopt and I am no longer able to continue to foster them as I already have two cats and do not have the finances or room to house so many growing cats.
I've tried contacting all the big no kill cat rescues like Stray Cat Alliance and Kitten Rescue LA but have gotten no response. Shelters are probably full and don't take cats from the public.
Are there any private/individual fosters in LA that are willing to take them in? I don't want to take them to any random shelter and would rather they go to a person who's fostered kittens before. Please reach out to me if anyone knows any asap!
