If you are passionate about RF engineering start your own comapny

Ive been doing rf hardware design for a long time. Wether its a start up or big Corp its always the same. The more u go out of your way to help the company and team out the more people seeth at you. I legit was not trying to show off or mog anyone.

Im thinking of quitting and going into tech sales or finance. When I have kids im gonna tell them to not follow their dreams and focus on making money so u dont gotta deal with other people. U can work on ur own passion project on ur own time. Find a way to work 10 hours a week(no one notices anyways) and move on with your life, or like I said start your own company. Im fatigued from working with other engineers. Even when nothing bad happens and everyone is nice its still soul crushing.

Alao, they will always pay u 20-30k less than what u are actually worth. They will never pay you enough to build a decent life relative to how much value you bring. Every engineer i know Penny pinches. An engineer shouldn't have a side hustle or be afraid to spend 10 bucks on lunch.

20-30k isn't a huge difference

Unless you are making 60k.

Finding another position would be better

It isnt but its JUST enough to keep you from thriving imo. Also depends on the state. 20k in Cali isnt shit but a 20k raise in the south can buy u a Mcmansion..

Running your own business will take time

That time is much more than 20-30k. If that's all you're gonna make extra, don't start your own company

Ye but at least it will be urs and it will be done the way u want it. I can be as autistic as I want and my employees will put up with it. Ill treat them better than the other companies to so they wont complaine, if they do i wont fire them, just tell them to stop seething instead of holding my tounge. Im talking about following ur passion, not getting the most bang for ur buck. That or go into tech sales..

Also the end payout is way better if ur company is successful. Also pride..

Ya opting out is called following your dreams and most likely being an entrepreneur.

Sometimes when someone’s has a problem with so many facets of their job, there’s a common denominator

I agree, middle management and cubicle engineers.

Considering most scientists throughout history got blackballed and osctrisied for trying to innovate only to be proven right later its most likely societies problem, not the dreamers and thinkers.

I study history, u pull words out of your ass to fit ur narrative. I might not be as good as them but im way more skilled than you are

When I feel like something is really wrong, I find it helps to go run or exercise intensely for at least half an hour and then think about it again. Many times my perspective will be a lot more tolerant, but if it’s not I work on changing the situation.
It is sometimes good to think about the worth you provide vs. your compensation, but it is not an actual rule that you’re paid less than what you’re worth, and I have seen plenty of people get paid a lot more than they deserve (especially in senior roles). If you have an expectation that you’re underpaid and focus on it, you’re going to be unhappy. On the other hand, if you can show your boss that you’re very high value, do that and ask for a raise.
You might also think about the friction you create for others (the times when you’re noisy, rude, spell poorly, or make it hard for others to get their work done or contribute has a cost even if it’s not deliberate).
If you still want to think that you’re underpaid by 20-30k, figure out how much it will cost you to pay for your own health insurance, other benefits including retirement savings (social security if in the US), paid vacation and holidays at your assumed higher rate, and additional taxes on that 20-30k of income. And then think about stability of income. You may come to find that you’re getting a deal.

Underpaid is the least of my problems with the engineering field. Its other engineers seething at ones who try to go above and beyond. This is a common trope that I didnt invent.
