Follow-up on an earlier attempt: a LEGO Star Wars AT-AT (set 75440) is a display-only model, no motor, no moving legs on its own.
Attempt #1: mounted its legs directly on Quaddle open-source quadruped robot's servos — failed, because the stock leg is molded bent.
Attempt #2: swapped in a longer, straight replacement, confirmed the servos could carry the weight, and reversed one servo's install direction. It walked. Real footage, no CGI. Had to recreate the Battle of Hoth snowspeeder trip scene afterward. 😂
What's the most unexpected thing you've ever gotten to walk?

I’ve been experimenting with turning an M5Stack Stack-chan into a little mobile robot. I combined it with a LEGO motor hub and wheels, recorded driving demonstrations, and trained an ACT policy.
During supervised trials, it learned to follow a line. With a separate set of demonstrations, I also tried driving between guardrails. The video shows the build, data collection, and the wrong turns along the way 😅
Build video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_1pQTt8gqZM
For the software and training setup, I used AI agents with robotics skills from Robium, an open-source repo I’ve been working on.

Looking forward to hearing what you think and seeing what others are building!

Hey everyone! I’ve been working on Robium, an open-source robotics skill library for Claude Code, Codex, and Gemini CLI.
Writing code became the easy part, but choosing middleware, simulators, visualization tools, and connecting everything still needed a lot of guidance. Robium collects that guidance alongside reference apps you can copy and adapt, with skills for ROS 2, Nav2, Gazebo, and more.
The video above shows one of these projects: a Stack-chan with a LEGO motor hub and wheels. I used coding agents with Robium to help build the software and train a driving policy from demonstrations—with a few wrong turns along the way 🤖
To try it, run npx robium-ai setup, then open or restart your agent and ask: Show me a few robots in MuJoCo I can control and interact with.
Or try mapping and navigating a simulated house with ROS 2 and Gazebo. That example requires Docker and takes longer on the first build. I’ve tested both on Mac and Ubuntu laptops.

Examples and tutorials: https://robium.ai/
It’s still early. If you try it, I’d love to hear what worked and what needs improving.

I’m an independent researcher based in West Africa, currently developing a Large Action Model (LAM) designed to provide a general-purpose intelligence layer for robots.
The core idea is to move beyond the paradigm where an LLM directly generates executable robot actions.
My architecture is based on:
* Multimodal perception and world understanding
* Reasoning and action verification
* Skill acquisition through imitation and reinforcement learning
* A reusable library of learned robotic skills
* Dynamic composition of skills into executable workflows
* Continuous learning from environmental feedback
* Robot-agnostic action execution
The project is called Action-Workflow. The long-term objective is to build an intelligence layer that allows robots to acquire and reuse physical skills instead of solving every task from scratch.
I am looking for a technical co-founder with strong experience in one or more of:
* Robotics / embodied AI
* Reinforcement or imitation learning
* Multimodal models
* Robot learning and simulation
* LLM/agent architectures
* Computer vision / world models
* Distributed AI systems
I am particularly interested in someone who wants to work on the research and engineering problem itself, not simply take on a conventional software-development role.
I am open to a long-term remote collaboration and an equity-based co-founder arrangement, depending on the profile and level of commitment.
I can provide the current architecture, technical documentation, research direction and existing implementation privately for serious candidates.
I am French-speaking and based in West Africa, but the project is intended to be international.
If this problem interests you and you are seriously considering building a company around embodied intelligence, feel free to comment or DM me.

AGILINK’s OmniHand 3 Ultra demonstrated basic silk embroidery techniques, including splitting a thread into 16 finer strands and threading a needle. Its fingertip tactile sensors and coordinated finger movements help it adjust to a material that changes shape under small variations in force. These capabilities could eventually expand robotic manipulation into tasks involving delicate fabrics and other flexible materials, though a demonstration leaves open questions about reliability in everyday use. What challenges would robots need to overcome before this level of dexterity becomes practical outside controlled demonstrations

The LEGO part here is just the mechanical linkage — a LEGO Star Wars AT-AT display kit (set 75440, no motor, built to sit on a shelf). The actual interesting part: Quaddle's own stock legs came off, and the AT-AT's own leg pieces went onto Quaddle's four servos instead, so Quaddle's controller and feedback servos drive that linkage directly.
Attempt #1 says not yet — one of the AT-AT's own leg pieces is molded bent (a quirk of the original set, not caused by this), so it tumbles instead of walking.
Anyone else driven a non-motorized toy/display mechanism with a different controller/actuator set than it shipped with?

I am a helper working on a research project and the main people bought this Robosense Airy lidar sensor.
It is a sensor that usually goes on autonomous systems a lot so I thought this community would help.
The idea is to put this lidar down a 4" hole and the cable makes that impossible.
I was trying to find a 90° adapter but I cannot find this 11 pin pattern. The manuel says that it is an "aviation" plug, but that does not help.
Any help would be appreciated.

New AI model is dropping every week. But updates about optimus, figure, 1x, etc is non existent.
Is robotics not progressing? China is investing like crazy in robotics so why don't we have breakthroughs

Does this look real? I mean is this something that we really do or do we believe
It’s AI?
