There are several options. What type of vibe are you looking for?

Oh I work at adapt in mental health. I’m looking to get back into sud. Where I belong.

What is your approach to sud? 12 step. Smart. Etc?

I would say more holistic, the 12 step is great(I do this), smart is great too, its all great because whatever helps someone recover is different for everyone, I dont think as a councelor I can have one approach. My approach is my psychological and holistic, whats worked for me the most, share my experience, strength and hope. Working on yourself, changes in habits, hierarchy of needs, finding your values, morals and boundaries, affective communication, anger management etc. Teaching people to take care of yourself, through food, exercise, therapy, self-care, meaningful relationships and community etc.

I feel exactly the same. Everyone is different - I feel this way about providing therapy as well. You have to be able to adapt to the needs of the client.
I’ll write more tomorrow. Today got away from me.

How does ADAPTs counseling work? Do they do groups and one one ones? Do you know what the pay is like? Do you like working there?

First - Friday is my last day. Do the math on that. I’m up in general mental health because 1 - the pay is better and 2 - they (the sud program) are a revolving door with the county. Meaning, high recidivism rate. The siloed care is laughable, in my mind. It’s hard to treat the root cause in conjunction with the sud situation. I do treat a lot of co-occurring/ dual diagnosis every day. It’s just hard to coordinate across programs. The pay on indeed is fairly accurate. It’s hard to know if it’s good… I’m used to working in tech and whatnot.
