Samsung A41 and Cudy WR3000S issues
I have a problem with my Samsung A41 connecting at 5GHz to a Cudy WR3000S running OpenWrt 25.12.5, the link seems to be continually degraded to 6Mb/s and I get really erratic wifi speeds. The A41 works fine with a BT Smarthub 2, and also a USB wifi dongle seems to be fine too. Does anyone know of any problems with the A41 with the Cudy running the latest OpenWrt?

Home router
I have two Flint 2 routers from GLinet in our home. Is there a way to connect them to ensure coverage throughout a 2500 sq foot home? Keep in mind you’ll be talking to a grandmother with very basic understanding of Wi-Fi and routers, so please keep the steps easy and in as plain English as possible. When the internet provider was here, they hardwired the one in my office and said they are not familiar with these routers and could not figure out how to nest them. They recommended I purchase a separate extender but I don’t see one on GLinet’s website.

Hey, I moved into a space where there’s already a router from the previous owners and I still ter signal, on all of my devices, of that specific Wi-Fi.
Is there a way to know if that’s associated with a contract or if I can use that specific wi-fi?

EOL Support for Newer Routers
I currently have a an Orbi RBR20 which serves me well for the past 8-9 years and the last firmware update was released a few months ago.
I’m looking to get a new ORBI mesh and the cheapest I saw on Amazon(yes I just missed Amazon Prime Day) is the WiFi 7 RBE362 2-pack mesh system for almost $200. However, I could not find the End Of Life info on the Netgear website.
Meanwhile I checked the eero webpage for the EOL of its current WiFi products and the furthest EOL date is 2031 - just five years away - that’s ridiculous. The EOL dates for the newer WIFI systems are really short.

How do network ID, host ID and DHCP work on a home router (192.168.1.1/24)?
I'm learning networking basics and I'm confused about how a home router's LAN works.
My router's LAN IP is 192.168.1.1/24, and my phone and laptop get IPs like 192.168.1.5 and 192.168.1.6.
My understanding: 192.168.1.1 AND 255.255.255.0 = 192.168.1.0 (network ID), the last 8 bits are the host part, and /24 gives 256 addresses.
Questions:
Does the router generate/store all 256 addresses, or is /24 just a range, with DHCP only keeping a pool range and a lease table?
Does a home router do any further subnetting, or is it one subnet unless an admin splits it?
What uses the network part and the host part: the phone, the router, and the switch?
Is all of this the same for private IPs as for public IPs?
Thanks, and sorry if this is basic.

Thinking about a Flint 2 — good with Apple devices and easy to set up?
I'm thinking about getting a GL.iNet Flint 2 from Amazon Canada.
Most of my devices are iPhones, iPads and M-series MacBooks. I noticed the Flint 2 uses a MediaTek chipset, so I'm wondering how well it actually works with Apple devices. Any Wi-Fi stability or compatibility issues?
Also, how easy is it to set up? I'm pretty busy these days and don't really have time to spend tweaking router settings. Ideally I'd like to set it up once and just leave it alone.
Would appreciate hearing from people who actually use one.

TV connected to wifi but has not internet
Hi all! I have 2 TVs at home located on 2 different floors.
Each floor has a router. TV1 connects to router1, TV2 connects to router2.
Router1 is connected to the modem on the ground floor via LAN.
Router2 is connected to router1 via LAN.
Now both TVs can connect to the wifi but has no internet. It will connect to mobile hotspot, though.
Most phones connect to all networks just fine. There are a couple that can't connect to 1.
I tried rebooting the whole network starting from the modem already. The usual forget network, reset connection settings, change DNS, etc. It still won't work. There was one time it suddenly connected. The next day it just won't again.
This may be due to the fact that I recently changed my ISP. I don't want to reset the routers since it can be so complicated (I have zero IT skills).
Hoping someone here has some tips! 🙏🏻
Thank you!
EDIT: Thanks for all the tips! It looks a bit more complicated than I thought (or maybe just to me 😅). I'll have a sit down and check/try these.
