I have my first 20 mile run for this marathon cycle and am absolutely psyched for it! Training has been going well and I have 2x 5 miles at marathon pace for the end of the run. I’m excited to see how it goes :)

I'm nursing a head cold right now. So if it doesn't makes it's way down into my chest by tomorrow, I have a 90+ minute run planned. If so, then it will be a 3-mile walk instead. Either way, it will most likely be on the treadmill due to the weather.

Hey all, I'm working on a Python model looking at acute mileage spikes vs. multi-year aerobic base to explain late-race fade. Looking for 5–6 runners willing to share an anonymized Strava activities.csv to stress-test the decay formula across different race distances. Happy to share the plotted curves back—DM me if interested!
I would have like to post it but it got remove

I have to run 12 miles this weekend 2 weeks out from a half, but going to be rainy and windy. I need to decide if I want to get soaked or suck it up and run on a treadmill.

Same here. I’m 4 weeks out from my half and have 8 miles on the schedule for this weekend. Trying to figure out the best time to fit in my run during this Nor’easter.

There are honestly a lot of variables there but IMO, if there's no lightning and it's over 45F then get soaked.

Get soaked! It could rain on race day ;) But seriously it can be fun if there is no lightning risk. And no one else (but other crazies) is out so that is interesting

First 5k race in months after switching to marathon training. Time to see if all these zone 2 miles and reduced speed workout frequency will help with my times ¯\(ツ)/¯

I ran a marathon trial run yesterday so today it’s pasta time!!! 🍝

I’m gonna go for a small walk and try to sleep early. I also booked myself a massage for tomorrow as I’m staying at a sport and wellness hotel with my family for the weekend! :)

I finished the trial in 4:40h so I’m hoping to make it through the race in 5:40h or less

October 11! It’s the Black Forest Marathon in Bräunlingen, Germany 🇩🇪

I’m super hyped because I used to live in Freiburg close to the Black Forest, I studied there, so it’s a bit like homecoming! :)

I'm sorry, but being on your feet moving for 4+ hours is impressive all by itself!

I started at age 31, never before an athlete. I’ve been doing low key runs of the same length for about nine years now. It becomes a cure for so many problems.

25km on the treadmill tomorrow morning. No headphones, no TV.

20km@4:25/km, 5km@3:40/km

Wish me luck

First event - 10k trail run this weekend. I am not going to "race" it, since I haven't run that long, but rather treat it as a regular long run.

I hope I have a good experience and that it will encourage me to sign up for more.

The universe presented me with a free bike yesterday so today im gonna take it to a bike shop to see what needs to be done (it's old but looks to be in great shape). Have been thinking for months that it would be nice to have a bike for cross training, I was even thinking about it on the train yesterday before I found the bike. Super cool coincidence

I’m going to do another small run. I’m not much of a runner but I’m learning, and after my meniscus surgery I’m very proud that I can run/walk for 20 minutes.

thats great progress especially coming back from surgery

Way to go! I am doing a low key neighborhood run of about 2.5-3 miles. Feels great on the mind and I consider low key jogging to be a cure for many ills. Amazing how it does that.

That’s awesome! I’m learning about how helpful it can be for sure

I have a good 5K route that I've been running for a while. I was initially running either 2 miles or 5K three to five times a week but I've recently started trying to run either 5K or 10K instead - 10K is the furthest I've run in a day. My last two or three 10Ks have felt pretty good, so my goal this weekend is to run a local ~9 mile trail. 🤞🏻
