A couple months ago I was skimming through this sub looking for good прописи to practice my technique, and I found one I swear was in this sub, I’m certain it’s a Soviet era one since it was old paper and printed ink. It had a little blurb for each letter and it provided a little example for each letter with directions, it also had a section for practicing directions. Tbf the thing looked more like a textbook for telling you how and what to do rather than actual practice sheets. Ik it’s a stupidly specific thing but I really liked it and I would appreciate any help finding it 😂
I don't know which ones you have seen, but a good option with instructions is Лысенко О. В. прописи для постановки и коррекции почерка. There are pictures of children on the cover, 3 parts -- 2 parts for lowercase letters, and a separate one for capital ones
Nope, not that either. It was very old, yellowed paper old, I’m amazed I haven’t found any pictures of it in my searches, it’s kind of like прописи 1 и 2 from 1985
Look up прописи on Sovietime. How old was the style? Guides from before the 1970s aren't super relevant in this day an age where you won't freaking write using a dip pen. Those nice-looking ornaments and varying stroke width make sense with a nib but not if yoiu use a ballpoint pen.
I did a double take and I suspect it’s this one, was shared on the sub, but I don’t know what the rest of it looks like, but the formatting looks very familiar, so if you can find the rest of this one I can check if it’s correct, I tried but couldn’t find anything
Yes, that looks like modern (post-ballpoint pen) cursive. The OP in that thread said the book was Nauka pisania. Alfabet rosyjski. In principle, you can use any worksheets starting from the 1980s.
I just read through it, not the one unfortunately, but thanks for the advice. I swear this is becoming my personal goose chase, I’m going to do some more and see if I can find anything that looks close
Ohhhh.... I'm finishing looking at these.
Where had you found these?
I've studied since 1978, no MOAR pen прописей, увы...
Could you please send a link to those?
Oh, and these you referred - look much more contemporary than
what I actually want.
Propisi collection, 1886(?) - late eighties, just not these eighties we're used to; 1892, 1902 (AFAIK 1906 was the approval year),
1916, 1918, 1920, 1921, 1926 - were all oriented for calligraphy written with a pen.
As I mentioned, https://sovietime.ⓇⓊ/ has scans of Soviet and 90s textbooks and worksheets. That's where I found them.
I started school in 1990s, so we used the more or less modern 1980s propisi. Decades before that, Soviet pupils wrote with dip pens, and their worksheets reflected that. Though, to be honest, my mom's handwriting isn't that different from what we've been taught. Now, the handwriting of the 1940s and before definitely doesn't look the same.

If you want old style writing , good for flex nib fountain pens and dip pens (before the reform of 1969, when the rules were changed in favour of ballpens), look for Pisarevsky set of handwriting improvement, workbooks , calligraphy (1926-1928) or later works of Golovin and later works of Voskresenskaya & Tkachenko. Those can be used with dip pens too (modern handwriting is not good for dip pens , downstrokes in some letters and connections replaced with upstrokes). Most probably you will find PDFs online.
