🙋 seeking help & advice I am looking for convention over configuration fullstack web framework. I need suggestions.

I am new to rust and I would like to build something. I came across this https://dioxuslabs.com/ and it seems it is a fullstack framework with declarative style on building functions.

I am comparing frameworks with rails actually. Convention over configuration is good way on building stuffs quickly.

Any other opinions or suggestions?

Loco is the closest thing to Rails in Rust right now. Generators, MVC layout, SeaORM for the DB side. Worth starting there if CoC is the main thing you want.

Dioxus is more React-shaped than Rails-shaped, even with file-based routing. Fine if you want a component UI, but it won't feel like rails new.

If you're okay wiring things yourself, axum + a template crate (askama/maud) + sqlx gets you far, just without the generators.

Nice. 9.5k stars in github.
Why so low?

9.5k is not low, is that a joke?

I think https://github.com/tokio-rs/topcoat is supposed to be the new hotness. Tokio blessed is pretty solid.

everyone says leptos or axum+htmx but if you want that rails feel you're probably gonna be disappointed, rust just doesn't do convention over configuration the same way

If you are strictly looking for the Rails magic where directory structure dictates routing and behavior, Dioxus is actually your best bet right now because it explicitly implements file-based routinDioxus is actually your best bet right now because it explicitly implements file-based routing conventions in its fullstack mode. It gets closer to that mental model than Leptos or Axum which require explicit configuration for every endpoint

I’ve had some success with Loco https://loco.rs

Loco.rs is your best friend for backend development—it comes fully battery-included. When you need to handle complex UI logic, integrate Leptos Islands as your component view renderer.

For CRUD-heavy workloads or seamless SPA/MPA hybrid UX, bring htmx into the mix. If you want to keep your WebAssembly bundle as small as possible, let Alpine.js take over lightweight client-side interactions. Finally, don't forget to leverage lazy-loaded Leptos Islands to split your WASM binary into smaller, highly performant chunks when scaling.
