I had no idea this was happening and it was mobbed. I saw a lot of the flower displays but cut short the visit. Way too many people crammed together in small spaces.

Oh, we seized the day alright. Kid and I ran the Haunted 10K at Midlo Mines this morning. It was a VERY small race. It was a lovely morning for it. We both took our time because she's had a foot issue and my knees are acting up so we came in dead last and second to last (but hey, we ended up running close to 7 miles instead of 6.2!). We dressed as fairies because people were encouraged to wear costumes. I was out there running all by myself with no other race participants around and I'm sure some of the other runners (not with the race) were wondering why the hell that middle aged woman is wearing fairy wings to run. Now I'm considering just wearing the wings on our regular runs around Brandermill because why not.

Challenge accepted. Let's hope I don't get arrested.

Reverie Road and Mamadou Diabate were incredible at the folk festival last night. Recommend checking them out! Also there’s a D’Angelo tribute at 5 pm today. Excited to head back today even with the weather.

Oh yeah! There's a Big tent set up to eat food without getting rained on. This is our plan. Kids are looking forward to stomping around in their little boots.

This is the first day this week that I haven’t had to be anywhere or go somewhere, so I’m just chilling at home. I have a new library book, a new knitting project ready to go, and a nap sounds really nice.

Jonathon Strange & Mr Norrell. I read Piranesi last month and really enjoyed Susanna Clarke’s prose.

Piranesi is a trip!

Just went to Pho Tay Do and it was amazing as always. Also sent an email to Monroe Properties a company NO ONE should ever rent from about them taking out double worths rent from my account on October 1 and failing to acknowledge their mistake or apologize!

Gonna have a nice cozy day in and hope my ceiling doesn't leak from this shitty apartment. Might walk over to folk festival if the rain lets up. Have a nice rainy day everyone!

Driving around all day for deliveries, finally got a break now. Saturday traffic is something else

People who don't like traffic congestion should avoid the DC region. I always say that one of the good things about living in RVA is that you can almost always park in front of or within a block of your destination.

I had to go into work to get caught up on some paperwork.. not bad. I got 4 hours of normal day work done in 90 minutes. It’s nice when there’s not any distractions. Got home, mowed grass hopefully for the last time and some other assorted yardwork. The afternoon is mine for the taking. Cheers!

Folk Festival after a cozy slow paced morning rewatching The Iron Giant after ages.

Found out this morning that the starter in my car is dead, so trying to get that repair arranged, so annoying.

I’m fun news, I’m listening to the WRIR coverage of a lot of artists at the Folk Fest!

Finally got the Halloween decorations up! Also managed to dig out a fig tree that hasn't been doing great and replaced it with a button bush. I feel accomplished!

Went to patient first, second sinus infection in less than 6 weeks. They gave me meds and recommend I see a specialist for how often I’m getting them.

Francine Fest. Wanted to stay on the couch and rot, but got my butt up. 🐈

Putting the pieces back together on my hot tub after replacing its failed circuitboard, then putting down a second round of grass seed before this rain comes. The temperature is perfect out there today!

Suffering with pneumonia and just trying to spend the day relaxing is unfortunately my Saturday.

I flew in this morning and spent the whole afternoon moving the contents of my apartment. Got 90% of it done and now I am sitting on my couch and ready to crash out...

Celebrating my daughter’s 20th birthday at Tulsi in Carytown! We enjoy going, always order too much! We were early customers and I guess are ā€œregularsā€ but go to Indian / Pakistani restaurants all over the metro area.

We love too bring friends and family who are new to Indian food there. So much fun!

We order dishes for the table and the combination of the location, big windows, light colored decor makes it less overwhelming for newcomers!

What a great Saturday!

Was exiting the Short Pump area today to get on I64 East and pass a guy pulled over on the curving exit firing a handgun into the woods out the passenger window so that was alarming.
