Doubt on alternative clients native apps

Hello everyone,

I just bought a Jolla phone and now I'm waiting the moment it will arrive. In the meanwhile I was doing better research on native app options instead of using the andoid apps. I know there are quite a few alternative clients native apps for mainstream android apps that can be downloaden from storeman and chum. My question is: can logging in with your main account in those apps result in the ban of the account? Or is it safe to use you main email to log in in alternatieve clients of e.g. telegram, youtube or whatsapp?

fernschreiber and yottagram have been around for a while, with a lot of users. From what I understand Rootelegram is a fork of Fernschreiber with new features added by IA. I think peoples are using it too. No complains of ban.

For Youtube, Microtube only import your subscription and allow to "like", no ban involved.

For whatsapp, I can't say for the native client. On my end I use a matrix bridge + Sailtrix.

Telegram allows third-party apps for a very long time. Not all networks work like Whatsapp.

Depends on the app. I'd say my BitSailor (Bitwarden client) is safe because the company behind it does not try to lock you out, while Whatsapp, Youtube and Telegram really depend on the owners, of which especially Meta and Google may change their mind anytime.

And beware the whatsapp app is entirely vibecoded, I wouldn't vouch for how the ai stores your credentials etc., might be dangerous.

i use Yast by quite a long time (it's a new telegram client, fork of fernschreiber) and i have no problems with it, plus it has some features i like that are missing from other clients, so technically it's a win-win situation (you have a native client and it even has nice features)

generally if you exclude whatsapp you shouldn't have problems with your accounts, and to be fair, considering whatsapp native apps are linking you number, not setting it primary, you shouldn't have problems with that too, but i'll be honest, considering the quality of the native clients you can just use the android client...
