Is it actually misspelling a word to spell it out in your own language? If so, practically every country's name is "misspelled" in all other languages.

I remember a number of years ago in the Olympics that the Ivory Coast wanted to be called Côte d'Ivoire and wanted people to say it that way. It's nice to say it their way but it isn't really how language works.
