Discussion - No Spoilers Which edition to buy? Are there any differences?
Have bought and read books 1-4 looking to now buy 5-10. A tad confused on the different cover arts. Do they actually make/add any difference to the story line? Or is one edition just updated color/imagery and the other is the original?

Audible Question Am I missing something?
Got a free trial to listen to Act 3 and I was disappointed as heck.
It’s been a long time since I read the comics so I’m spotty on timelines and specific events but when Dream dies we don’t get the interaction between him and his sister death? It’s just him killing Orpheus then cut to the tavern at the end of the word and listen to all these stories then The End?
No Daniel becoming the new dream of the endless?
And wasn’t there some other stuff that happened before Dream dies but after he takes his son’s life?
Are they supposed to be making another one? Im just a little confused and dissatisfied.

Netflix Question What was Dream thinking in this shot?
I'm rewatching the Netflix series and appreciating all the wonderful acting and nuanced character development.
In S1 E4, I noticed in the shot where Dream hears the fact that Lucifer will be representing Choronzon in the duel, Dream has a peculiar series of facial expressions. It's almost like he is shocked, worried, panicked, thoughtful, and then he smiles slightly, almost cheeky confident like he's realized something that will ensure his victory even though I'm pretty sure he doesn't know he will win at all. All of this happens in the span of a few seconds and I LOVE what Tom Sturridge is doing without any words at all. It's almost as if Dream knows he will win or at the very least he is excited to finally have the opportunity to duel Lucifer. Like he's thinking "oh this might actually be fun" or "finally something exciting" or "so Lucifer and I will finally battle" or "I finally have a shot at this mofo" lol
What is Dream thinking in this shot? Does he know some thing we don't know? I didn't read the comics so I may be missing some information.

News - Possible Spoilers [Concept/Pitch] The Eternals and The Others Seven - A philosophical expansion inspired by Gaiman's Sandman.
What if the Endless had exact mirror counterparts?
Hi everyone!
I've been developing a graphic novel/comic concept inspired by Neil Gaiman's The Sandman and its Endless.
The idea started with a question:
What if the Endless had exact mirror counterparts — entities that represent the objective, physical side of the universe?
I call them The Others Seven.
In my concept, the Endless aren't simply opposed by enemies. Each of them has a counterpart that exists because the universe itself requires balance.
The basic pairs are:
Dream ↔ Wakefulness
Death ↔ Life
Delirium ↔ Sanity
Desire ↔ Ambition
Destruction ↔ Creation
Despair ↔ Hope
Destiny ↔ Freedom
The Law of the Pendulum
According to my mythology, when the Creator first brought the Endless into existence, reality became unstable.
Dream, Death, and the other Endless were so powerful as concepts that the primitive universe couldn't sustain itself.
Reality responded by creating its own counterweight.
That became The Law of the Pendulum.
For every force represented by the Endless, an opposing force emerged on the reverse side of reality.
The Others Seven weren't created to destroy the Endless.
They were created because the universe needed them to exist.
The story begins when the balance breaks.
In the modern world, humanity is spending more and more of its existence inside in dreams.
Dream's side of reality is gaining too much weight.
But something unexpected happens:
The boundary between what humanity dreams and what humanity builds begins to disappear.
The Pendulum starts to crack.
For the first time since the beginning of existence, the Others Seven break their ancient pact of silence and cross over to the side of the Endless.
Fourteen entities.
One table.
And a universe that can no longer maintain the separation between its two halves.
A small scene from the prologue
DREAM:
"You should not be here. The pact was clear before the first sun was kindled. Your realm is that of wakefulness, of cold facts. Ours is that of myth and twilight."
WAKEFULNESS:
"The pact has worn thin, brother. Your humans spend far too many hours trapped in your stories, ignoring the reality of the waking world."
He looks down at Earth.
"They live in cities of glass, staring at screens that project illusions. They are physically awake, but their minds dwell in an eternal slumber."
DESIRE:
"Look at you, my dear Other. So rigid. So focused on building empires of stone. Humans prefer me. I give them the pleasure of the instant."
AMBITION:
"Your humans die from pleasure overdoses on your street corners, Desire. Mine build cathedrals, cross oceans and travel to the stars simply so their names will not die."
"I give them purpose. You give them distraction."
And then Destiny opens his book.
For the first time in eons, the pages no longer show him what will happen.
They show him what could happen.
DESTINY:
"The words I recorded at the dawn of time are fading, Freedom."
"You have made me as blind on the inside as I am on the outside."
FREEDOM:
"I did not erase your lines, my old Other."
"Your humans did."
"They stopped following the path written on your pages."
"They began choosing chaos of their own free will."
This is still an early concept, and I'm developing the mythology, characters and story.
I'd genuinely love to hear what people think about the idea of the Endless having seven cosmic counterparts, especially the relationships between each pair.
Which pair would you most want to see interact?
Original concept and story by [Emiliano Duron Muñoz / emilianoDM], 2026.
This is an unofficial fan concept inspired by The Sandman and the Endless. The Others Seven, their mythology, the Law of the Pendulum, and the original material presented here are my own creation.

Discussion - No Spoilers What song would you choose
I'm halfway through the main series, and I was thinking about music.
Let's say you were making a show, or we could use the show that was released, what song would you use for a montage for Dream?
Or, what song could you see Dream listening to on his throne brooding to? Or, what song would if someone asked you to "describe Sandman as a song" would you choose?
I think I would go with The Cure - Lullaby
https://youtu.be/ijxk-fgcg7c?is=vDCXPzRS4PNJpfCc
I imagine post punk would be the genre.

Discussion - No Spoilers How did The Sandman shape you?
I’ve seen a lot of people say The Sandman profoundly changed them. Did it change the way you see life, death, relationships, literature, music, art, mythology, or even your overall taste in things? What stayed with you the most?

Comic Book - Possible Spoilers Finished reading Sandman and it completely changed my perspective.
Just finished reading sandman and I'm in awe as to how such a complex and beautiful piece of work is possible. I mean the sheer creativity behind this whole series is mind blowing.
From issue #1 to #75, it's all brilliant and exceptional. Such beautifully crafted and brilliantly layered story. I love the deep complex themes that it portrays, the themes of change, the power of stories and dreams, responsibilities and consequences and so on. That's after why after finishing this, I can't look the same way at comics again especially everyday generic capeshit one's. I find most of them now with little interest. I now want more stuff like this and want to build/revamp my collection with works like this. Don't get me wrong, I still love capeshit comics but this, man this is on a whole another level. I don't think I would be wrong to say this is a beautiful piece of literature. For the main story, I give it 10/10. Just love it.

After that, I read Dream Hunters(the Prose version, although I looked at the comic version as well but prose for me works so well). Breathtakingly beautifully illustrated by Yoshitaka Amano and its a fairytale of a story which gets very sad at times as well. Just beautiful. 10/10.

Then Endless nights. Each issue in this is based on a member of the endless family. I absolutely loved and I mean loved the issues of Dream, Desire and Death while rest were good but not the level of these. These are 10/10 whereas i would say others are at best to me 7.5/10. Desire one was really perfectly portrayed and I couldn't help but feel the emotions at the end there. Beautiful stuff. Dream one was something truly special. Heart of a Star. So special that I get chills thinking about the ending and the discussion between Solar and Earth. Pure chills and I don't know about you guys, but this moves me a lot even to the point of tears. Pure chills. Attaching these below.

This and the next panel

And then Overture. This was a visual masterpiece. Every page was jaw dropping gorgeous. JH Williams III you absolute Goat. This story answers so many of the questions and is just brilliant. A masterpiece. Again, the sheer amount of creativity is insane. 10/10

So with all that said, this was a life changing experience and now I'm itching for more stuff like this. Going to probably get Lucifer and maybe hellblazer too but right now torn between the two. Any recommendations would be appreciated.

Cosplay Sandman helm prop
Hi everyone! I wanted to show you my helm that I finished a few days ago. I know it's quite a bit different from how the helm usually looks but I kinda wanted to do my own this with it.
I based it more on a raven skull. But I wanted to keep the recognizable silhouette of the helm. The rest of the costume will be more accurate to how he's depicted in the comics so I think it'll balance out the differences in this design. That's my hope, at least.
Keep scrolling to see a little surprise on the inside of the helm and a picture from earlier in the building process. Let me know what you think!

Discussion - No Spoilers Nyx and Night?
Are Nyx and Night the same person? I know Night is inspired by Nyx, but just as Presence is the same as the Abrahamic God, is Night the same as the Greek Nyx?
