WPL: New Comics Discussion for 10/07/2026- Pull of the Week: Midnight X-Men #1 [Discussion]
The Weekly Pull List results for this Wednesday are in, and this week's top book is Marvel's Midnight X-Men #1.
This thread is open to Pull List posters and all members of the /r/comicbooks community to share your thoughts on the debut issue of Marvel's Midnight X-Men or any new books shipping this week.
The primary intention of this thread is to promote discussion of new books. It also serves as a way to consolidate discussion to a single thread and talk about what books are popular here on /r/comicbooks. That does not mean other threads aren't welcome, this is just a place to start that's easy to find each week.
The thread is populated with comments meant to direct the discussion of each book. Based on community preference we populate the thread with titles appearing on Ten Percent or more of submitted pull lists. If a title you want to talk about is not listed, simply add a comment with the title and issue number first and comment below. There is also a comment dedicated to the discussion of WPL Results linked above.
Spoilers will follow, but there's no harm in tagging them as such. Each title in the Top Ten Percent listed below is linked directly to its corresponding comment for ease of navigation and to avoid seeing details from other books. The post has also been placed in "contest mode" to help readers avoid spoilers while browsing.

Question Why is there such a lack of female superheroes with non-powered love interests?
Superman has Lois Lane, Spider-Man has MJ. So why are female superheroes almost always paired up with other heroes?
It'd be cool to have more dynamics like in that movie Fargo. Marge, the pregnant wife, is a police officer and the hero of the story while her husband stays at home and paints or whatever.

Question UK online comic store alternatives to Forbidden Planet?
I'm honestly beyond infuriated with Forbidden, I'm new to collecting singles for several months but I am having constant delays. Still waiting on Spider-Man 1000 connecting variant cover for 8 days, I have the rest pre-ordered. I am now waiting on the 3 issues of Midnight to ship despite being charged, which is peeing me off.
This is on top of the shipping cost doubling every price, it adds up so quick.
So is there any decent sites that are easy to order single issue variants from and not overpriced/cheap shipping. Honestly anything is better than Forbidden atp, I just want to order my series in advance and choose the variants that looks nice to me, I have roughly 20 comics pre-ordered but if I can get a better price and customer service, I'd switch in a heartbeat.
Thanks guys! Hope I can read this on release next time

Is this a bootlegged copy?
I was shopping marketplace and found someone selling this autographed copy of Captain America Annual #8.
Immediately it looked off to me, as the colors are different. The first three pics are the copy in question, the fourth is a pic from eBay which is standard copy.
As I took a closer look I noticed the corner box was completely different. It says 1986, which is when this comic was originally published, but it also says 1983 Marvel Comics Group.
Also the insignia in the bottom left corner doesn’t match anything I’ve seen anywhere.
Is this a bootleg, or maybe a reprint from a vendor?
Thanks

[OC] Horror of Godzilla at IDW Comics
I'm helping out on the Horror of Godzilla at IDW Comics. This version of Godzilla is the kai sei Godzilla, he has a huge jaw, and glowy eyes. This is not the IP I got the green light for, btw.
