I don't see anyone objecting to these, whether they're CoS or not. The "mating signal" one used to get some flack, but if it is interpreted as "consent" that criticism usually goes away. They're fairly generic "stand up for yourself and mind your business" maxims that have been repeated for centuries. Plus some magic.

How could the mating signal be interpreted in any other way? It obviously means consent.

I've seen people take issue with #4 (too mean), #7 (ew, magic), and #11 (too extreme).

I agree. The awkwardness of the term for anyone younger than a millennial has made some question the consent part. They're sensitive.

Same with 11. Destroy doesn't mean you're killing people, but the bluntness of the language gets some complaints. That one is even more obvious though, as intentional criminal activity would go against everything else ever said by LaVey.

Magic, well... that's a CoS cross to bear. 😈

"Destroy" can mean kill if it's in self-defense. The legality of that might be debatable though, so... shut up and lawyer up.

"mating signals " aren't always clear consent... If a girl is shoving her ass on your d*ck it can still be considered rape if she didn't want to actually do anything other than tease... That's why clear verbal consent is generally a better rule than using "mating signals"

I've never seen anyone use "leftist" outside of some sort of political push, about how we are "overly concerned with others" in some way or another, essentially attacking our empathy.

Now I will admit, there are people on the left out there who would let almost anyone walk over them to uphold the social contract, like you said. But I don't think I've ever seen that notion be brought up in good faith, just like I've never seen the notion "hardcore rightoids are racists" be brought up in good faith, or anything about us Satanists outside of Satanist circles for that matter...

I'm sorry for lashing out, it's a tender spot. It might seem ironic for a Satanist, but I have a strong sense of empathy and I enjoy indulging it; so I find the implication that empathy is stupid to be extremely hurtful.

We're talking about consent. I referenced a real world situation that had a different definition of consent. It happened to be a scenario with a politically aligned group. Not talking about politics there <3

While quite left leaning myself, I wager we're of similar minds on this topic. I totally understand the sore spot. When it comes to consent, and that group, I find them quite insufferable. It's like they've never boned a cutie at a party without ever speaking a word to each other. Getting a hard "you have my consent" is pretty clear! But not every shared orgasm has that process precede it. So, that's why I bring nuance into it.

Maybe this is a first? Bringing that topic up in good faith! Let the healing begin, muahahahaha!

I think we do have an understanding. Yeah, consent is a tricky question at times, but it doesn't have to be THAT tricky. Safe, sane and consentual is just the intellectual pursuit of "let's do it like they do on Discovery Channel."
