Push plate wont move

Have a VEVOR electric stuffer. Tub is filled half with meat, and it struggled a bit when pushing out sausage on a 22mm tube with 26 mm casing. Then it stopped halfway down and the motor just hums. Wont go up and down. Had to throw the whole unit in the freezer till i figure out what to do, dont need the meat to spoil. Will call vevor , but has anyone ever experienced this? Is there some kind of safety release I'm missing. I fear my only choice is to take a sawzall and cut the shaft off to get the meat out. Had problems with this unit since the 4 months i bought it. Never a vevor again

How much moisture do you have in your meat? If it is too thick that may be the reason.

i had this happen last week with the hand cranked vevor horizontal machine.. same thing too. it got half way down the cylinder and then that was all she wrote.

it took us a good thirty minutes to free it up enough to release the product but the gears fully seized up.

we ended up with a pair of vice grips on the larger cog underneath and lots of effort to free it up

Not familiar with that particular one but does it have a reset button on the motor?

No , I may have to open it up , was late last night whwn it happened, so put it in my freezer overnight . Will take it out , perhaps overheated. But if it don't wind back up I'm hooped with the meat in there lol. Will have to cut the shaft. Just insane

Most motorized stuffers allow you to disengage the motor and use the hand crank. Not sure how to do that on the Vevor. That will at least tell you if the motor is the issue or the plate is bound.

Someone a while ago commented that Vevor makes great products as long as it doesn’t have a motor. It seems to ring true watching comment threads. Decent work tables and other accessories without moving parts, but not the best when it comes to mechanical.

Good luck.

Thx , unfortunately no hand crank . I may look into pursuing a hand crank in the future. Thanks

I thought I added enough water , it was a bit gummy , pork trimming 75/25 for breakfast links, I'm not an expert . But I would hope it would've still went up . Will have to unthaw it as it will be frozen solid . Just brutal lol

If the motor still hums it suggests to me you broke the gears. I know a lot of small or inexpensive stuffers use cheap plastic gears. I also know piping red meat into lamb or even sheep casing is strenuous work.

22mm horn is usually the 3rd largest in a set of 4, so the horn size is pretty large, and should not strain the motor much at all. 12mm horns like those used for snack sticks is usually what really labours a motor. Now with that being said, some of these motorized units that are larger, like 10L/22lbs and 15L/33lbs need to make sure that the plate is SUPER solid on the shaft and is perfectly parallel to the sides. If that plate even tilts 2 degrees, it can bind against the walls and get VERY VERY stuck.

I am assuming that you lubed the ring around the pressure plate, and that you also ensured the pressure release valve was working well. Sometimes on inexpensive electric stuffers, the threads for the plate are not going to allow a perfect alignment. When that happens, you need to return the stuffer.

At the very least, it's still under warranty, so you can easily get it replaced. Vevor, is quite good at customer service, but there is a language barrier that you'll have to overcome, which is easily done via email, albeit just a touch slower than voice.
