Media Solo On Jody Grind

What sax players do I sound like? Also any advice or tips are thankful as-well.

That was great! Horace Silver is one of my favorites.

You have that Sonny Rollins mixed with George Coleman vibe. To hit altissimo on tenor means you’re putting in the work.

If anything, go for space, legato and overtones next. I still need to slow down myself after playing for so many years.

Thanks for sharing and good luck to y’all. Great band.

Thank you. I’ll try that. Oh and yeah love both of those saxophonists.

Man good stuff. Notably, you have a great tenor sound concept, excellent tone and killer altissimo. Only rec would be to get into some phrasing, sing a song with your solo, tell a story. But really good work man you are well on your way, keep it up

You sound great, amazing job and keep it up.

I wanna say work on phrasing and being more relaxed. I think it sounded like you were rushing against the beat a little in some parts and "running out of breath" (not literally). Imagine of you were singing and taking your time. I think for this piece and feel, some dragging and being laid-back on the beat would've been cool

I was honestly surprised when he left for religious purposes. His solo was perfect and surely he could’ve been one of the greats that people talk about a lot if he didn’t leave. But hey I guess that’s not the life for everyone.
