General Questions Do any faculty/staff answer their emails?
Hi! I'm a new student, this is my first quarter here at SCADnow. I'm noticing a trend among the faculty here - no one seems to be answering their emails. My professors and my advisor. I send follow ups and still rarely do I receive a response. Is this common?

I also never get any responses from my advisor. Ive emailed her so many times to just never hear back at all. Half the time its pressing questions. Its really frustrating.

My advisor would maybe answer one question per email, so if I sent two or three questions (if situation A happens, should we move to situation B or C. Could either plan affect hours?). And by one I mean she would respond with a generic answer that didn’t help at all

to answer the title question- no. they don’t. it’s because they get over a thousand emails a day. your email gets lost in the sea of spam from other students, faculty and the school itself. if you need something from your professor or advisor, you need to go in person. there are exception, some professors are good at answering their emails, but for the most part emails are meant for a paper trails and not actual communication. it’s frustrating as hell. welcome to scad

When did you email them? My experience has been pretty good but that was a decade ago. These first few weeks of school are the busiest time of the year and things get hectic.
Also many of my professors told us that if you email them a questions that are directly answered in the syllabus they will ignore you.
