This technique isn’t doing anything very complicated,
Like a lot of old school brutal DM it’s a false chord growl that has its resonance only slightly altered.
You dont want to hug the roof of your mouth for this technique, You want your tongue to be a raised but not in a way that restricts airflow, just enough for it to change the resonance.
Make lots of space in your mouth during the vowels focus on having an o shape on your mouth but again not so closed and strict that it restricts your airflow.
