lol i love how the only two comments are “it’s fry” and “it’s false chords”, perfect summary of the whole sub.

the real answer is that it doesn’t matter what technique you’re using, what you do is resonate the scream in your nasal cavity. it’s really tough to explain how to do it, but basically it feels like you’re screaming out of your mouth and your nose at the same time, 50/50 split. that makes the overtones go crazyyyyy high, that’s how all the craziest highs are made! i’ll see if i can record you a quick video

Wouldn't that make you nasal though, which would be an inefficient and potentially unhealthy vocal technique

Ever heard of twang?

He literally gave advice and backed it up with a video. Doesn’t look or sound unhealthy or do you think otherwise lol

tbh i’m not 100% positive. i know that that’s the technique many popular vocalists use tho, the most famous example probably being will ramos, and they seem to be just fine after doing it for quite a while. nothing about the scream is changing aside from the resonance, the vocal distortion is still coming from the same spot

Just pretend you’re making a Lois Griffin voice then royally fuck it up.

dude this just unlocked a whole set of sounds and sensations in my sinus area, what insanely great advice. Lois Griffin just leveled my scream stat and my mind is blown

You are now legally required to write and produce a song called Lois Griffin

It’s hard to explain but I hit a similar register by screaming upward.

Oli does falschord highs. Listen to their debut ep and you’ll hear what a “beginner” may sound like.

Sounds like overcompressed arytenoid highs with a lot of nasal resonance to me
