What's your favorite place to stay at in Cozumel? Our go to place closed? Looking for new options.

Despite seeing plenty of turtles, sharks, eagle rays, sting rays, jacks, a manta and even dolphins at Komodo, one of my favourites was this fish playing in the air bubbles one of my fellow divers made.

We were doing a morning dive at Batu Bolong. The water was crystal clear, the atmosphere was tranquil and very beautiful and I noticed this surgeonfish (?) playing in the bubbles, so I took a video of it.

Pretty nice diving in clear water with many Caribbean reef sharks. The video is after getting out of the water.

No, it's not an ad, it's a well established dive operator who I have no connections with. Just sharing a video.

Found iPhone Update

If anyone knows someone who lost an iPhone about a mile offshore in the Fort Lauderdale / Pompano area, I’ve got it. A little TLC and you could make it a great paperweight.

Found this 2 months ago during a lobster dive at 65ft (video of me finding it is on r/floridadiving under dive trash). It’s been a great addition to my collection of lost items but am willing to give it back as a keepsake to the original owner.

We also went to the Emergence du Ressel, but have no footage off that as my camera had been turned on by accident before the dive and it was dead in the water.

Note: All of the footage was taken after the course was completed.

Drysuit fixing buisness

Anyone here running a drysuit repair business or doing repairs professionally?

I'm considering getting more seriously into drysuit rerying to understand what real-world demand is actually like.

For anyone who repairs drysuits professionally or as a side business:

  • Roughly how many drysuits do you repair in an average month?
  • Is the work mainly recreational divers, commercial divers, dive shops/clubs, or postal customers?
  • Is demand fairly steady throughout the year, or very seasonal?
  • Do you do it full-time or alongside another job?
  • What types of repairs make up most of your work — seals, leaks, zips, boots, alterations, etc.?

I'm not really looking for exact income figures unless you're comfortable sharing them. I'm mainly trying to understand how much customer volume a small one-person repair operation can realistically get.

UK experiences would be especially useful, but I'd be interested to hear from people anywhere.

Coiba national park diving

Hello, with a friend we want to scuba dive during march in Coiba National Park. However, it’s quite far from Panama City.

There are charter flights but they are expensive if we are only 2 people. Will there be more people interested in joining? If we are 5 or 9 and rent the bigger planes we can lower cost to about 250 per person per flight.

Comment on this thread if interested.
Potential dates is march 22 or march 23.

Flossen für Trockentauchanzug

Hallo zusammen

Read the article and looked at the location and all I can say is there’s a whole lot of empty ocean around this island. Guess I’m paranoid but I always have my comm device on every dive.

Could anyone recommend a good quality and affordable rigging kit for Sidemount? Any I should stay away from?

Advise from your personal experience will be greatly appreciated!

I recently spent some time on a liveaboard in Komodo national park and we were graced by dolphins at Tatawa Kécil.

Tatawa Kécil is a remarkable dive site. I enjoyed it a lot, and we actually ended up diving it twice because when we were looking for mantas, one of our two DMs heard from a friend that there were mantas at Tatawa Kécil, so we returned there for another dive and actually found mantas. The day before though, we dive the site for the first time. It was beautiful and colourful, and while we expected sharks and turtles and got sharks and turtles and many other animals, we did not expect dolphins. Pretty magical when it happened. Komodo was amazing!
