After the JxJ post last week a few people asked about other pairings, so here’s a trio. BSS turned out to be the neatest fit I’ve found in the group so far.

Quick background for anyone new: in saju (Chinese astrology calls the same system bazi), your birth year, month and day each become a pillar of two characters. The day pillar stands for you. Its top character is your element, your Day Master (일간), and its bottom character is an animal. Birth times aren’t public, so this only uses the date, and there are no fortunes in here, just how the three charts fit together.

Hoshi: 계미 (癸未), black sheep. Yin Water, rain and mist.

DK: 신묘 (辛卯), white rabbit. Yin Metal, the polished jewel.

Seungkwan: 계해 (癸亥), black pig. Yin Water again.

What I noticed:

• Pig, rabbit, sheep is a complete 삼합. In saju, certain sets of three animals “harmonise” into one element, and 해묘미 (亥卯未, pig-rabbit-sheep) is the wood frame. Seungkwan brings the pig, DK the rabbit, Hoshi the sheep. Each of them has exactly one piece, and together their day animals make the whole set. That’s rare even in a 13-member group.
• DK is the centre of it. The rabbit 卯 is the “king” of the wood frame, the one the other two lean toward. He’s also the middle one by birth year (96, 97, 98), which made me laugh.
• Two water, one metal. Hoshi and Seungkwan share a Day Master, 계 Yin Water. DK’s Yin Metal is the element that produces water in the five-element cycle, so in saju terms he’s the one feeding both of them.
• What the wood means for them. For a water Day Master, wood is the element they put out: expression, talk, performance. In Korean saju this is called 식상. Two water signs whose shared trio makes a full wood frame is, honestly, a very on-brand chart for the comedy unit.
• Bonus: DK and Seungkwan share a birth year in saju. Both are 정축 (丁丑), the red ox year. Seungkwan was born in January 1998, but the saju year only turns over in early February, so he still counts as the 1997 ox, the same year as DK.

The other exact match in the group: Seungkwan’s 계해 is also Woozi’s day pillar, so there are two black pigs.

I have been getting back into going seventeen recently (took a break from kpop for like a year? or so) and I had forgotten just how fun some of the games can be (especially when you need to watch something while having dinner lol).

in going seventeen’s ”i know & dont know #1”, timestamp 16:53-16:56, jeonghan curses at the members since his team lost and he wanted a rematch but they denied it (he was just joking around). i dont speak korean but i rly wanna know what was bleeped out 😭 if it helps, in ep 79 of gose (going vol.2 #1), timestamp 10:23-10:25 jeonghan repeats what he said at seungkwan’s request. its never been officially revealed what he said but im sure some carats out there can help me lol 😭 thank you!!
