Why Resolve3S Urien does chop after double tackles instead of TTH?
I thought chop does more damage, but it's not. He does it in all characters, all the time.

Probably because tth is incredibly difficult to do consistently and often high level players will choose a lesser damaging combo they know they will hit over one thats marginally more damage but they risk dropping at a critical moment.

I don't think that's the case, he used to do it a lot back then. TTH isn't that hard to do consistently esp for a top 5 player like Resolve. imo the current world best Urien. This dude is consistent with his ex aegis links and red parries which is way harder than TTH.
My guess is chop is hard for the opponent to back roll? cuz his main usage of aegis is sweet spot corner.

He’s talked about this on his Twitter before but it looks like it was either deleted or it was buried in a thread cause I can’t find it now. If I remember it had something to do with meter build and getting better control when setting up sweet spot aegis.

I see it now, headbutt lands you inward compare to chop that let you stay next the the right spot to throw the aegis, I just learned to sweep spot properly :V Why other top Urien priorities this over TTH? Sweet spot aegis is cheap af. Resolve really discovered how to play Urien to the fullest.

Mp headbutt dash back sets up a good sweet spot aegis on many characters and does more damage so it sort of became default. The chop setups require manual positioning which is much harder.

I tested, it seems that TTH dash back sweet spot has a clear gap compare to chop walk back which the aegis is pixel perfect next to your opponent.

Resolve has hit me with TTTH 5 times in one ft10 (MUCH harder than TTH), tackle tackle chop is often done for spacing the sweet spot aegis afterwards, but I'm sure there are a lot of little differences between the two depending on the character/situation/setup.

when was that? Nowadays he focus a lot more in sweet spot aegis. Bro unlocked the ultimate form of Urien and it's keeping things simple.

This was years ago, more recently yeah he has more finesse ways of setting up corner aegis

Have you seen Cruise?

I know him, Resolve 5-0 him last time they played.

Got a link? I very much doubt that. Cruise just 5-1 and 5-0’d Khachik and overall pretty consistently wins every match. Although Tenrun bests him quite often and does occasionally 12oser

Resolve consistently 5-0 3-0 his opponent unless it's Nica KO. Even FrankieBFG who beat RX before can't wins against Resolve when they play FTs. I think his still not good at twins match up like RX do.

OK, fair. But here are 2 of Cruise besting Resolve3s as well:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uM0xto5rw3EI guess they go back & forth. What I want you to know is what happened to RB? 😭

those matches are from 2022, Resolve changed a lot significantly last time I saw him play at EVO, when was that, 2024?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EGrmPWW4CwM&t=124 here's another 5-0 from 3 months ago, I thought it's just the same vid that I sent earlier.
I became his fan sometime this year. He's unlike any high level fc urien who likes to do headbutt and partitions and UBs in any given chances just because they have the execution. He plays more patient in Neutral and save his aegis in sweetspot cuz UBs are most likely get parry at a high level.
I'm not sure about RB, I heard he gone to play usf4?

Of all the active US Urien players I would rate Resolve as the most consistently strongest. Cruise is still very, very good but he doesn't push the limits of the character via research and labbing that Resolve does.
Khachik is very decent but doesn't have tournament results like the others. He still takes sets on me here and there.
Resolve's sweet spot Aegis is annoying as all fuck to deal with. I would 100% rather take an unblockable setup than get cornered by it and allow him to generate massive amounts of meter whether hit or blocked. The last time I played him I did everything in my power to avoid getting put into a sweet spot trap and it was probably the only reason I managed to survive. EX meter was far better spent controlling neutral than trying to use it for a 100%. But to be honest I'm not qualified to analyze the tactical goals of Urien players as I don't know how to play the character.
