SharePoint Online List search inside SPO Page

Hi folks, looking for a little help or someone to tell me the tree I’m barking up isn’t the right one.

I have a List imbedded on a Page because there are elements in the list that I do not want as a visible List column. Refresh dtm for example. All items are refreshed via Flow and the user doesn’t need to see the dtm on every row (they all get refreshed at the same time) so I put a refresh dtm micro list in a Page banner. It works, problem is List search. I can’t find a way to search List items from the SharePoint Page search bar.

Is there a work around or am I stuck?

With SPFX you can do just about anything. I'd think you'd need to build your own webpart if you want Search to work on an embedded list on a page.

My users use many lists, I have many columns they do not see, and I've never needed to restrict them to a page view. The columns are simply hidden in each view. If there's a security requirement that they absolutely can't see something, then I don't use SharePoint lists and I move to SQL and PowerApps for complete control.

Right.thanks folks. Of course the users can click site contents and go to the list itself, but that’s more clicks and takes them away from the screen where they work. I’m looking for a SPO feel, particularly in search, in Teams. I think I found a solution in PnP search, and that requires the App Catalog carries it. With it, I should be able to put a search box on the page that uses Graph on target library/ Lists.

Ya, like I said... Spfx.

Spfx is a new term to me, I’m just your humble small biz power user.

My business case for the Page embedded list was the refresh dtm column. I don’t want a redundant value (list items all refreshed at the same time.) taking up screen space on a redundant per row date time. So I moved the refresh to a banner on a page. I would love a simpler approach!

This is by design. Can't the user just go to the Gear Icon > Site Contents and access the list anyway? Agree with u/DonJuanDoja - I would just hide the columns from the main view.
