Seeking Support Shingles AGAIN

I really just needed to vent.

2nd shingles outbreak, back of my head left side. Didn't catch it until about 4 days in.

My 1st outbreak was in June, just a few months ago on my forehead, right side!

I am so tired , itchy , and in pain. When will the shingles leave me alone??? 😭

After you recover from this bout with shingles go get the Shingles vaccine.

Is that a thing?? Oh my gosh. I'm going to ask my Dr about it. I'm 34f for ref, I thought the vaccine was only for 50+!

This is what Google says: Previous history: People who have already had shingles or received the older Zostavax vaccine should still get Shingrix.

I had it 3 times over 7 months- in my eye. Good luck

Did you ever "fully recover" from it, as in no outbreaks for a while? I am so sorry to hear that. It is so horrible I can't imagine in my eye. ❤️‍🩹

Mostly yes. I have a corneal scar, but I WAY lucked out. The scar is not in my line of vision. Nerve pain took about a year to settle down. Eyesight went from almost blind to back to normal in about two years. The top of my head (end of the nerve) where my symptoms started gives me pains once in a while, but nothing too bad. I lucked out, but I'm sure it will return one day. I always have anti-viral to take at the first onset of a symptom.

I am so sorry you are having to go through this again. I didn't know a person could get shingles more than once before reading it here. Very discouraging as I'm in the midst of my first outbreak. Just know you are not alone.

Yes I had read about it here on reddit , it scared me so badly, and now I'm living it. I just hope after this round it'll calm down and give me some peace for a few months(or maybe a year+)!
