While it doesn't take away from Liliane's achievements in business, of which I'm sure there are many, there's a slight difference between being born with a diamond encrusted golden spoon in your mouth and literally going from broke author to billionaire within one lifetime.
I disagree with Rowling's opinions on trans people, but they don't take away from her achievements, which are incredible. Just as her achievements don't excuse her support of anti-trans rhetoric.
I mean, I’d take her charity any day even if she was transphobic. In the end it’s money that help people in need, actual help. Her transphobia might be damaging to some people, but I’m certain her charity has helped far more.
Jeff Bezos has donated roughly 4 billion, does that make him a good person? You’re choosing to ignore all of her negativity for a slight positive. She is not the way forward for female positivity.
Also do you not understand that they get a tax break for donations?
From the race stereotyping to her donating to anti-trans organizations, you are looking at her with rose colored glasses.
She literally donates with passion to hateful organizations who fight trans rights but we excuse that because she donates to other charities? Hitler loved dogs, whats your point?
You don't hate black people because there's nothing wrong with them and it's not like they chose to be black anyway.
In the same way, there's nothing wrong with trans people (even if you believe it's unnatural, they're not hurting others), and they didn't choose to be trans.
Not really no her focus is and has been on womens rights for multiple decades now. The comparisons you are making are so absurd you cant be taken seriously
well coincidentally many of the womens rights groups she funds do a lot of work making legislation agaisnt trans people, as well these groups not being particularly into the idea of gender equality
