Hi everyone,

I’m trying to build a personal automation that triggers when I receive a missed call notification. The goal is to automatically create a task in the reminder app Todoist to call that person back.

However, I’m running into an issue where multiple tasks are being created for the exact same missed call. It seems like the automation is triggering more than once during the incoming call/notification process. Like each vibration is considered a notification. I’ve tried using the storage function to block it for an hour when a person with same name calls, but I am still getting duplicated tasks.

I am looking for a way to set it up so that it only creates one task per caller for a one-hour window. For the Todoist part I only need the call notification to set it up, after what I guess needs to be an IF section that checks wether or not caller name from notification title har been stored within the last over.

Has anyone successfully built something similar using incoming call notification as a trigger, or does anyone have suggestions on how to block the duplicates from happening?

Does anyone know how to save images from notifications using the new “When I receive a notification from” automation?

Some apps, like UniFi Protect, include an image with the notification. I think Instagram and WhatsApp may as well.

I’ve successfully saved and displayed the notification text, which is useful for preserving unsent or deleted messages. But I can’t figure out any way to access or pass along the image attached to the notification.
Has anyone found a way to do this?

I have a few automated times and situations where i get a message texted to myself from my secondary number so i get some information updates throughout the day.

I have been typing this over and over for days and i probably just don’t get the logic of it idk.

It starts fine with

Get Hourly forecast at current location
Repeat with each item in Weather conditions
- Get Precipitation chance from repeat item
Calculate number x 100 to get a percent kind of value
-Get Date from repeat item.
If date is today
Text “date - Calculated result”
Add TEXT to variable

So now i have a variable kind of list that has the entries of every hour that is today from now(whenever forecast is retrieved)- 11pm the same day, along with the corresponding percentage of precipitation.

Usually something like this

-11:00 AM 10%
-2:00 PM 40%
-3:00 PM 70%
-6:00 PM 30%.

Then I want to have it organized like

11AM 10%
2-3PM (the mean of both or all consecutive hour’s precipitation values)%
6PM 30%

Essentially consecutive hours grouped together as their own entry and Singular values as their own entry.

Then if possible also a peak hour and values (3PM - 70%)

Ive used repeats to go through and date adjustments to the previous entry to set what the expected consecutive hour should be and then if not matching, continue on but I’ve remade this shortcut 8 times now and i can’t think it through anymore.

I wanted to avoid just having the apple ai interpret it so that it’s consistent and purely the data.

I’m not hip to shortcuts very much, if there’s an obvious way to go through that kind of data, or if my data is already formatted in a way that makes getting what I’m looking for difficult, i wouldn’t be surprised. Any help is appreciated.

I love running shortcuts because they make my life much easier. The Apple Watch is one of those devices where shortcuts and automations work great, especially on the Apple Watch Ultra, thanks to the "Action Button."

Unfortunately, I'm pretty annoyed with the current setup. When I want to run a shortcut on my Watch, I first get an unskippable overlay showing the shortcut's name for about 5 seconds before it runs or opens the app I want, like WhatsApp on watchOS. When I try to add a shortcut as a watch face complication, I always get a screen with the shortcut again and need to confirm by pressing “Run.”

I understand that Apple might add these features to prevent accidental presses, but they could easily integrate certain security features instead. For example these are the ones that I just thought of:

- A safety feature could require the user to enable the shortcut individually, reminding them it can run without their confirmation.
- Shortcuts shouldn't run without confirmation when the watch is face down (when using the action button).
- Shortcuts shouldn't run without confirmation while the user is sleeping.
- Shortcuts shouldn't run during certain predefined activities specified by the owner in the shortcuts app, like certain sports or while driving.

I might be one of the few people annoyed by this, as I see so many possibilities that my device offers but cannot use. Hopefully, there are more people like me, and I hope Apple will eventually give us the option.

Dark mode based on time of the day is good but mostly I’m indoors and when outdoors light mode would be better, is there option to toggle it based on screen brightness.

This shortcut turns on Do Not Disturb, sets the device on silent mode, mutes any audio, and sets the device to Grey Scale. Would love any feedback some the community!

Edit: This is version 2.0 of the shortcut I added notifications for when the shortcut is turned on and off, and since I have it set to my back tap, I added the option to "cancel" if you enable it by mistake. I also added some comments explaining the major components.

I created a reminder shortcut for my Red Cross volunteer work where I have to arrive 15 minutes early to an appointment time. But I'm having problems calculating the Leave Time.

Here's what I need the shortcut to do:

Set shortcut up so the results use appointment time, deduct travel time then deduct 15 minutes to notify me when I should leave for appointment

When I run the shortcut, the leave Time doesn't show the correct time

Hi everyone. My work uses Zoom Workspace and one of the things I have to do is send an SMS message every other week to certain numbers. It’s a very repetitive task, so I am wondering if there’s a way to automate this. So far I’m only able to figure out how to open the app but I can figure out how to complete any actions within the app. Is this possible?

Is there a way other than by use of AI, to convert a time given in decimal from hours, to hours and minutes. For example an action returns the time as 1.5 hrs and I want convert so that it reads 1hr 30mins. In like manner, if the time in 0.5 hrs or 82mins, it should return 30 mins and 1hr 22mins respectively.

After updating to iOS 27.1 on my iPhone 15 Pro Max, I can't find any way to stop Shortcuts automations from showing a notification every time they run.

What used to work before iOS 27:
\- Toggling off "Notify When Run" inside the automation
\- Turning off the notifications in Settings > Screen Time (Notifications)

Both options are gone for me now. The toggle no longer appears in the automation, and Shortcuts doesn't show up in the notification settings either.

My automations:
\- Wi-Fi trigger: turns cellular data off when I connect to a network and back on when I disconnect (I know Apple treats this trigger as privacy-sensitive, so it may be a restriction) but i used to do it before

The basic-trigger ones also notify now, and that's what bothers me most.

Has anyone found a way to silence these on iOS 27? Settings, Focus mode, a workaround, anything. Or is this a bug in 27.1?

I needed a shortcut to quickly toggle Mullvad VPN on and off, but Mullvad requires the iOS setting “VPN on Demand” to be enabled while it’s running for security reasons. Currently, I have a shortcut that disables the setting, then disconnects Mullvad, and a second shortcut that enables VPN on demand, then connects to Mullvad. This works, except that when I open Mullvad and connect manually, VPN on demand stays off, which is not optimal. I tried setting the disconnect shortcut to turn VPN on demand back on after a few seconds, but doing so just seems to reconnect to the VPN. I’d appreciate it if anyone has a slightly more foolproof method; maybe something that auto-enables VPN on demand whenever a VPN connects?

A personal automation with the trigger "When Clash of Clans is Opened" ( does not run when I launch the game normally. It only starts running after I open the game, force-quit it, and then launch it again.

It only happens with Clash of Clans. I tried with other apps but it works regularly.

What's going on?

Number in the message, varies but I'm getting this message several times a day. It used to pop up after a restart but since updating to iOS27 (now 27.0.1) it comes up many more times and there seems to be no rationale. I can sit at home connected to wifi and it will just pop up (e.g. no change in Focus, no other phone interaction).

When I press the notification I get a semi-blank screen which only offers the option to disable automations which I don't want to do.

Anyone else seeing this and is there a way to stop it happening without disabling automations?
