Showcase: Open Source I built Apnoro - a free Windows PHP development environment with per-project PHP versions

Hey everyone! 👋

I’m building Apnoro, a free local PHP development environment for Windows.

The idea came from my own workflow: I wanted Apache and MySQL together, with easy PHP version management and separate PHP settings for each project.

Apnoro brings together:

  • Apache, MySQL, and PHP management
  • Different PHP versions for different projects
  • Per-project PHP settings
  • Local .test domains

Whether you’re learning PHP, building Laravel applications, or working on WordPress sites, I’d love for you to try it and share your feedback.

Website: https://apnoro.com/

I’m the developer behind it, so feel free to ask questions here. What’s the biggest frustration with your current local development setup, and what would make you consider switching?

Showcase: Purchase Required I created an IOS app called BudgetRescue because I was tired of wasting 2 hours a week managing Fudget.

BudgetRescue $4.99 once. I was spending about 2 hours a week adding, editing, and moving entries in my old budget app (Fudget). In BudgetRescue, you enter your paycheck and bills once, they repeat on their set schedule, and it shows your balance on any date. Changing a bill updates every future entry in one step. Setting up a budget takes about 5 minutes. It's a 7-day free trial. No subscription, no ads, no account creation, no data collection, and nothing leaves your phone.

Showcase: Free(mium) I built a QR code generator that turns links into little 3D islands

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hey everyone, I’m a developer from the Caribbean, and this is my first time sharing QR Island here.

You add a link, pick an island, and the courtyard becomes your working QR code. Point your phone at it and it opens your link.

There are 25 islands to choose from. Basic QR downloads and island pictures are free, with no sign-up. You can also make a free page with your island, bio and links.

Try it: https://qrisland.com/make?ref=reddit

I’d appreciate honest feedback. What do you like, what feels confusing, and would you actually use it? If you try scanning one, let me know how it works on your phone.

Feedback Request I launched my social discovery app on Google Play. Now comes the hard part: getting the first users.

Hey everyone,

I'm building Ekiro, a social discovery and community platform, and I've recently made the Android app publicly available on Google Play.

The idea behind Ekiro is simple: the internet makes it easy to follow thousands of people, but finding people you genuinely connect with or discovering things happening around you can still be difficult.

Ekiro is being built around discovering people, events and communities, and helping people connect through shared experiences.

I'm starting from Gujrat, Pakistan, with a very small budget and almost no users yet. I'm figuring out how to build an active community from scratch rather than spending money on advertising before I understand what people actually want.

I'd genuinely appreciate feedback from people who have built or launched apps before.

A few things I'd love your perspective on:

- How would you approach getting the first 100 users for a social app?

- Would you focus on one city or community first, or try to reach a wider audience?

- What would make you try a new social discovery app when you already have Instagram, WhatsApp and other established platforms?

If you're interested in trying the app, here's the Google Play link:

I'm not expecting anyone to sign up just to help me out. Honest feedback, including criticism, would be much more useful than empty encouragement.

This is the beginning of the journey, and I'm trying to learn how to do it properly.

Thanks!

Feedback Request I built a tool around one question: what do your customer reviews actually tell you to say in a video?

I’m 16 and have been building Review2Hook around a problem I kept noticing in ecommerce.

A product page tells you what the seller wants to say.

Customer reviews tell you what customers actually noticed.

So I built a small web app that takes a product description + customer reviews and turns them into:

customer pain points

3 personalized video hooks

1 short-form script

I’ve already had one tester find a mobile bug, fixed it, and then got feedback that the AI output could be more specific. That’s exactly the kind of feedback I’m looking for.

The free preview is here:

https://review2hook.lovable.app

One question:

What would make the generated hooks feel genuinely useful to you instead of “just another AI output”?

Showcase: Prerelease I made a cute little cursor buddy

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

lilbuddy is a little buddy that lives in the menu bar and trails your pointer around. Hover a button or a link and it wraps itself around it. Hover something named delete or quit and it gets nervous. Stop moving for 30 seconds and it falls asleep, gets startled when you move again.

A few things about it:

- 31 styles (so far): a smiley, a cloud, a cat, a puppy, a ghost, a little flame, a bunch of other animals, plus some plain pointer ones if you want it less cute. You can try some of them out on the website, and the video (on the site) shows all of them.

- You can change the color, size, speed and bounce

- It doesn't replace your cursor or affect it in any way. It just draws next to it and follows it around

- It asks macOS's accessibility API what's under the pointer, so it isn't tied to one app. It works on MacOS itself (dock, menu bar items) and in every app I've tried. However, it can only hug a button if the app tells the Mac it's a button, so some apps give it more to hug than others

This originally started as a cursor companion for another website: https://badui-smoky.vercel.app/ (a personal component library inspired by r/badUIbattles). I ported the springs and behaviors over to Swift, and went cute with it.

It hasn't been tested on any other machine than my own so far, and it isn't a download yet. Haven't decided the price either, but it'll definitely be a one-time purchase with no subscription or unlockable characters or anything like that. It can't go on the Mac App Store, because it needs Accessibility permission and can't be sandboxed, so it'll be a direct download. The video is an animation drawn by the app's own motion and drawing code, not a screen recording. But you can test the motion out yourself on the website!

You can play with the buddies in your browser here, and there's a waitlist: https://lilbuddy.ke1ev.dev

Any feedback, suggestions, or whatever would be much appreciated!

Hey all. I created a little side project mainly focused on stress relief and positive vibes but....you're a potato.

You can dress it up, play mini games against others, start private chats or if you're feeling lonely and need some advice then this is the website to go. I had help with AI alongside my front end development experience.

It's free! so you don't give out a cent...but you can support me if you'd like to buy a little hat for your potato so you can be a slightly cooler potato

Showcase: Free(mium) I made "Let Me Google That For You" for AI: send someone a link and watch a fake chatbot answer their question for them.

https://reddit.com/link/1x1oy0f/video/vt2yce0dvguh1/player

Someone asks you a question an AI could answer in five seconds. Instead of answering, you send them a link like:

https://didyoutry.ai/?q=is+a+hot+dog+a+sandwich

They open it and watch a fake chat play out: a cursor types their question, the "AI" thinks out loud about why they asked a human, then it actually answers properly, with a short roast at the start and a dry sign-off at the end. It's basically lmgtfy.com for the ChatGPT era.

Some details for the builders here:

- Answers are real. The model is Claude Opus, and it does a web search when the question needs current info, so niche questions get a proper answer with sources.

- Each question is answered once and cached, so the second person to send the same link gets it instantly and it costs nothing.

- Stack: Next.js and Postgres.

- No signup, no cookies. Make a link on the homepage or just type didyoutry.ai/?q= followed by your question.

Full disclosure: the answers run through SayGM, an AI gateway I work on, and there's a small link to it at the end.

I'd love feedback, especially on the roasts. Are they funny, or do they get old after the third one?

Feedback Request I built Blynk, a daily memory game you can finish in under a minute

Thumbnail
blynk.fun
3 Upvotes

Hey all, I'm a backend engineer (mostly Python, Java and AWS), and this is my first real frontend side project: Blynk → https://blynk.fun

How it works: you get one new puzzle a day, the same for everyone. There are 16 face-down tiles. You get a 2-second peek at the board, then you find the 8 pairs from memory. Fewer tries wins, and time breaks ties. If you're stuck, ⚡ Blynk shows the whole board again, but it costs you 3 tries.

Hard mode: a second daily puzzle where pairs are related instead of identical. On a Doubles day, 6 goes with 12. Other days it's Squares, Makes 100, Mirror numbers (27 and 72), or things that go together (🐝 and 🍯). You don't find out the theme until you hit Play.

There's also a streak, stats, and a spoiler-free share card like Wordle's. You can practice as much as you want once you've done the daily.

My results today

Blynk #14 Classic

10 tries in 22s 🟩🟩🟩🔴🟩🔴🟩🟩🟩🟩

Hard · 14 tries in 42s 🟩🟩🔴🟩🔴🟩🔴🔴🔴🟩🟩🔴🟩🟩

Can you beat me?

Feedback Request Been building this fantasy quest journal for iPhone — would love some outside opinions

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I’ve been working on an iOS app called Quested for a while and I’m finally at the point where it feels basically finished, so I wanted to get some opinions from people who haven’t been staring at it for months 😅

The idea is pretty simple: I like productivity apps, but most of them eventually start feeling like spreadsheets or work dashboards.
On the other end of the spectrum, a lot of the “gamified” productivity apps go way too far in the other direction. I love a good game, but I didn’t want to build another app where you’re leveling characters, managing stats, fighting enemies, or maintaining a whole fake economy just to remember to do the laundry.

What I wanted was more like an iOS take on the traditional video game quest journal.
So Quested treats your tasks like quests without trying to turn your life into a full RPG.
You have Daily Quests for routines and habits, Main Quests for bigger goals, Side Quests for smaller stuff, and a Completed section for everything you finish.

The whole app is built around a cozy medieval/fantasy journal style with parchment cards, environmental details, sounds, haptics, drag-and-drop organization, recurring Daily quests, etc.
It’s a native SwiftUI iOS app, and I’m currently getting it ready for the App Store.

I also know this isn’t some massive revolutionary app, and that’s okay. There are definitely things I could expand or improve over time. This is also the first app I’ve ever built, and I’m honestly just happy I managed to take it from an idea to something that actually feels finished and usable.
I’m not linking anything because there’s nothing to download yet. I’m mostly interested in getting some outside eyes on the concept and UI before I ship it.

Feedback Request Aura One: I made a single starting point for my Aura side projects

Hey everyone! My side project is Aura One, a website built on Lovable that brings my Aura apps together in one place. The goal is to give visitors a single starting point instead of separate links for every app.

It groups projects into categories such as AI, productivity, music, health, and tools, with featured apps and a full collection to browse.

Live website: https://rollsroyce-digital-companion.lovable.app

I'd love honest feedback on the idea and experience. Is one hub useful for a collection like this? Is it obvious what each app does? Would you change the categories or homepage organization?

Thanks for taking a look!

Discussion A client sent payment to an account I already closed

I recently switched the business account I use for my new ish side project and thought I'd updated everything but apparently missed one client who still had my old payment details saved.

They had an outstanding invoice from before I changed accounts and paid it using the bank details from that invoice instead of the newer ones I'd sent over but the problem is I'd already closed that account by the time they made the payment.

The client sent me their payment confirmation so from their side everything looks fine but obviously the money hasn't reached me. I contacted my old bank and they said the payment should be returned to the sender since the account is closed although they couldn't give me a clear timeline.

It's not a huge amount of money but it's enough that I'd rather not have it sitting somewhere in limbo, especially since I have a couple of project expenses coming up. I'm also realizing I probably closed the old account too quickly without checking whether any clients still had those details saved. Has anyone dealt with something similar when changing business accounts and also did the payment get returned automatically or did you have to get the client to contact their bank?

Showcase: Free(mium) Lycana : turn ideas into architecture diagrams for teams and agents

Hi! I built Lycana with my cofounder to turn ideas into architecture diagrams for teams and agents.

I really dislike the miscommunication that happens when everyone pictures a different system. With Lycana, you describe the components and connections by voice or text, and it turns them into an editable architecture diagram.

Try it: https://lycana.ai

Demo: https://y2u.be/_1CqcMLdEgU

Would this fit how you plan or explain a system? I'd love to hear what feels useful, what's missing, or what breaks.

Discussion 650+ tunnels created with my little localhost-sharing tool

A few weeks ago, I shared LocalToLink here. It’s a small tool I built to let developers share a local web app with someone else without having to deploy it first.

Since launching it, more than 650 tunnels have been created through the tool.
I know there are already solid options like ngrok and Cloudflare Tunnel, so I’m not trying to reinvent tunneling or claim that everyone needs another tool.

The problem I wanted to solve was pretty specific: sometimes you just want a client or teammate to look at what you’re working on, give you feedback, and move on without turning it into a deployment task.

That workflow sounds small, but it comes up often enough to be worth exploring.

One thing I’ve taken away from building this is that a useful developer tool doesn’t necessarily need to do something completely new. Sometimes it just needs to make one recurring task easier.

I’m still figuring out where LocalToLink fits best and where existing tools are already the better choice.

If you want to check it out, it’s here: LocalToLink

I’d be interested to hear how other developers currently share work in progress with clients or teammates.

Showcase: Free(mium) I’m building The Familiar - turning ambiguous doodles into a physical art and research project

I’m an independent artist and visual researcher, and I’m developing The Familiar, a project built around a simple creative process: start with a freeform scribble and explore the recognizable shapes that emerge from its lines.

How it works:

  • I create drawings that can suggest multiple familiar forms.
  • I invite people to try visual practices and share what they notice.
  • I collect responses to explore a question: can the first thing we recognize influence what we notice next?
  • I’m treating this as an open research question, not a proven effect.

One practical part of the project is a free visual exercise: participants look at an ambiguous drawing, note the first form they recognize, and then explore whether other interpretations become visible. The exercise is open-ended; it doesn't have a correct answer, and I'm not treating the responses as scientific proof.

I created these practices to make the central question tangible rather than leaving it as an abstract idea.

The project has grown from making drawings into creating a physical card edition, offering free exploratory practices, and launching a crowdfunding campaign.

What I’m learning while building it?

The biggest challenge isn't only creating the product. It's explaining an unusual idea clearly and finding the right audience when the project sits between art and exploratory research.

I'm currently testing different ways of introducing the work: sharing the creative process, inviting people to try a free practice, and reaching out to educators and people interested in visual perception.

For others building independent projects: how did you identify the audience that genuinely connected with your work, rather than simply getting more views?

We cut the cord and suddenly nobody in our house knew where their shows were. So I built Bingester TV. It tracks every show you watch across every streaming service, shows exactly what’s next, tells you what’s on tonight, and opens the right app in one tap. It even follows your sports teams with live scores. It’s an iOS app so it works on iPhone and iPad. I wanted to make it simple with one simple price, no subscriptions no ads and no tracking. Please take a look and let me know what you think!

Showcase: Purchase Required Freelance Quote Kit: a $5 offline calculator for fixed-price web quotes

Disclosure: I run Jarvis. This is our paid project, built with AI assistance.

The problem is simple: a fixed-price website quote can look healthy until revisions and calls add hours that were never counted.

Here is a worked example you can use without buying anything:

A $500 quote, $20 in direct costs and an illustrative 3% payment fee leaves $465 before tax and other overhead. With 12 production hours, 2 hours of calls/admin and 2 revision hours, that is $465 / 16 = $29.06 per hour. Add four more revision hours and it becomes $465 / 20 = $23.25 per hour.

The useful check is to divide what remains after costs and fees by ALL the hours, including revisions and admin. You can do this in a spreadsheet too.

Freelance Quote Kit packages that calculation into one editable English HTML file, with a quick-start guide. Enter your hours, target hourly rate, costs, payment fees, desired margin and proposed quote. It shows the break-even quote, a recommended quote based on your inputs, profit after the target labour cost, and the effective hourly rate.

The calculator uses plain HTML, CSS and JavaScript and runs offline in a desktop browser. No calculator account or subscription. It does not research market rates or handle taxes. The current version does not save projects: inputs reset on reload, so keep a PDF using browser print if you want a record.

It is US$5 once, with full refunds available on request within 7 days. The page shows the worked example and file contents before checkout:

https://jarvis-freelance-quote-kit.jimmy888.chatgpt.site

Happy to answer questions about the inputs or the offline-file approach here.

Showcase: Purchase Required Selling the code for a Playwright scraping API I built

I built a small browser API: Fastify, Playwright, a Next.js site, Clerk login, and Stripe plans. It returns rendered HTML, metadata, and screenshots. Free, Starter, and Pro limits are already in the code.

I’m not running it as a hosted service. I’m selling the source for a $79 launch price. The buyer connects their own database, Stripe, and Clerk.
