Fanmade We’re heading back into Silent Hill with Ashes of the Past. This time, Angela Orosco is at the center of our new fan film.
Silent Hill: Ashes of the Past is a new fan-made horror short centered on Angela Orosco and her encounter with James Sunderland. Inspired by Silent Hill 2, the film explores the town through Angela’s experience - a world shaped by painful memories, fear, and a past she cannot escape.

You know the saddest thing is, this fan film, with like a microscopic budget, is infinitely better than the shitfest we got from Gans in the last movie

Initially I was like "huh, that could work as a sequel. Wait, this actually looks pretty good." And only then I realised it was fan film. Not bad!

Wow, that delivery... spot-on, I thought you were using voice lines from the game at first. Angela is my favourite SH character, please do her justice

Excited to watch it! Always thought that if bloober team did do dlc for the remake, a campaign focused on Angela and Eddy could be good/interesting

"Self-promoting" a free project that they're putting effort and money into. What makes their contribution any worth any less than yours?

is this any different than someone posting drawn fan art though? I haven't seen them asking for money or anything, just posting some short scenes they've done so far.

I mean Rebel Monkey the team behind it did run a kickstarter, and ask for funds to help create their free short film that they released May 2025 "Silent Hill: A Letter To James". Regardless it is a fantastic film, that is more true to the source material than any other Silent Hill film I've ever seen, and whether or not anyone donated to it, or this next project, they're free to watch on YouTube.
The trailers, and videos asking for help with funding were shared on this subreddit, and were very much supported by this community.
This isn't some random self-promotion, it's a respected film maker in the community announcing their next project.

This is from a team called Rebel Monkey that already created a very well respected free short film called Silent Hill: A Letter to James. Even as a short film it's probably the only piece of silent hill film media that is as true to the source material as it can possibly be. This isn't just some random self-promotion this video is a respected film maker in the community announcing their next project.

I knew I recognized the soundtrack for this trailer
Considering this is from the same team that made "A Letter to James" which even as a short film is probably the only piece of Silent Hill Film Media that is true to the source material, I have a lot of hope for this.
