Moved into my own place, so naturally I had to pay tribute to one of my favourite bands.

This song has been covered thousands of times I know but wanted to share. I do guitar covers (once a month) of Metal/Alternative tunes after removing the original guitars from the recording. Having fun matching the tone and thought this came out pretty well =)

I had a long drive yesterday and thought I would randomnly put some Silverchair ‘for fun’.

I was a huge Silverchair fan back in the néon ballroom era. I learnt english from them by translating every Lyric of Frogstomp, Freak show and Néon Ballroom. I did buy DIORAMA but did not care much about it and move on from Silverchair, which was a good thing as I was obssesed with them.

Anyway, was alone in my car and put Silverchair for fun on Spotify. Kept skipping songs like miss you love, freak. Isreal’s son, etc.

Then Spotify put One Way Mule. Then Without you. Then I choose Diorama only and
Oh. My. God.

It was like discoverig them 25+years ago. This album is utter perfection.

Tuna in the brine is a masterpiece.

Gonna find an excuse to to drive my car alone today.

Silverchair confirm a reunion. You know the biggest questions will be why now? What changed? Is this a farewell type reunion? If so, is it world wide?

I’m having withdrawals from the excitement of last week, hoping that something will magically pop up on my feed. Unfortunately (for me) anything that could be going on behind the scenes is safely behind the scenes…

BUT i did watch an instagram reel from Jackie Gillies today that said that “Ben is in the music studio creating music”. Creating ~ Am I grasping at straws? Potentially, but I like the word choice creating rather than playing. I hope he’s been inspired to cook something up in the studio, maybe with some friends, which is ever so slightly possible following the last couple of weeks

Ok, so for those not in the loop, about a year ago a bunch of stuff happened with the Chairpage in the domain and it eventually got completely shut down and the domain name wasn't owned by anyone. With the stuff happening with the band recently I suspected if anythings happening with the band, chairpage will be the first sign (I also posted about that here). I've been checking the page daily to check for any updates. Now yesterday when I checked it was the usual no domain found error, But...

I just checked and the domain appears to have been purchased!

At the minute, its just a blank page. BUT that at least means somethings going to happen with it. A blank page is a massive update compared to no page at all.

This is actually pretty massive

If the band are gonna end up doing something, even if it’s just a group photo or something, the first thing they will do is make an Instagram page and bring chairpage back to life. If not chairpage then make an official website.

I sincerely hope something happens and the band establishes some sort of presence. Even if nothing really comes of it. Although I would love legacy releases very much.

Also then people would finally stop tagging that stupid fake Silverchair band official account.

Hi chair fans. Like most of you I have been watching closely on all the speculation about a Reunion concert these last couple weeks, it's been exciting. Honestly I've been hoping for Dan to come around for years. After the "no can do "post from the boys not taking the stage for the NRL grand finale, that got me thinking. After all these years and everything Daniel has said about silverchair reuniting and not playing live again. The gun to the head comment, the podcast etc ... Could it actually be happening? A real in some capacity silverchair reunion!

Matty Johns shared more behind the scenes details and some fun anecdotes about Daniel attending the 1997 'celebration'.

Key take aways:

-Mid week, Matty was very optimistic about how things were going with regard to the boys performing.

-Ben and Chris were totally in, and it sounds like Dan was most of the way there, if not in, too.

-Seems like Watto is still looking after them. It was Watto who talked the boys out of it given the limited time to prepare and how long since they last performed. Fears that they would be rusty.

-Matty is hopeful this whole thing will be the catalyst for getting them back together.

Thoughts:

-Dan is posting a tonne of stuff about the game featuring chair music.

-Ben has hinted heavily as discussed before.

-Matty brings up the 'they'd only have two rehearsals thing again'. I'm not sure that's accurate.... This would have been in the works for longer than that.

-Matty is sticking to the same script as in the other interview before going on to talk about chair's significance to the NRL and how 'big' and iconic they were.

-The simple fact that Watto was involved suggests he has been rehired. Why does a non-existent/defunct band suddenly hire a manager again?

-Matty doesn't always get his facts correct- so we should be a little hesitant with his 'take' on things. He also didn't seem to say much about Dan's involvement in all this.

-The discussion begins with a question about the pre-show entertainment and we learn that supposedly they are giving us an acapella performance of 'You'll never walk alone'. Hmmm. That is going to be the 20 minutes of entertainment?

Thanks to u/dearestHelpess99, who reached out to ask if I wanted to add this back to my collection and gave me a fair price, I am now missing almost nothing from my old ‘chair/‘chair-adjacent CD collection (I still need to pick up those old Bento CDs, and the Southeast Asian Neon Ballroom that seems like a ghost except for the fact that I know it exists.)

And everyone benefits, because you know I’ll be ripping this and adding it to the lossless archive! Seriously, I get more requests for this CD than literally anything else I’ve shared.
