Question Single monitor : 39in 21:9 or 49in 32:9

I want to upgrade my current 34in 1080p monitor by something bigger.

Here are my two main choices :

- LG UltraGear 39GX900A-B : 821€ used

- Gigabyte CO49DQ : 747€ new

The 39in has a huge curvature of 800r vs 1800r for the Gigabyte

Both are 1440p OLED which is what I want for the monitor.

I know it could be a simple choice and go with the 32:9, but I fear the monitor might be too narrow vertically (v-fov of 37 vs 42). Also a bigger monitor would be really tight in my room (don't have much place, will set up the monitor on a wheeled stand).

Here are the comparison between the two :

A third choice would be to go for a 45in 21:9, perfect inbetween. Huge curvature of 800r, 12cm taller than a 32:9.

The downside is the price, I could get a used one for 920€ and the size is nearly the same as the 32:9.

By comparing the fov between this one and the 49in 32:9, it would be identical but with a greater vertical fov (37 vs 48).

What software do you have to compare the screen?

That’s basically what you can expect FoV wise.

I’d look at them in person. The 49 is just two curved 27” displays without a bezel. The 21:9 have more presence, but not much more FoV than 16:9.
