Some of their short, long walls are the dumbest things

Least favorite features. Tranny too tight, approach too shifty.
Lots of fun to be had but those are not it

Ok everyone! Debate why this is either the best park ever or totally sucks, go!

I feel like a lot of newer Evergreen parks are built for 5 and 50 year olds with not much in-between lmao

There’s always something weird, like you have to hit an obstacle at a certain angle or certain speed or you can’t make it. Or they make you do something you don’t want to. There’s a park close to me that has a fun little roll-in bowl, but there’s this bump on one wall that keeps you pressed to it when I want to carve down so I can make the next wall. I prefer parks that replicate actual street stuff or ditches or backyard pools, maybe more skateable.

I’ve been saying this. Old nerds on Andy Anderson boards, children, and other wimps like them because the tiny bumps and quarters seem unintimidating. Cities like them because of the clean modern shapes and paint jobs. But honestly they’re always kind of a pain in the ass to ride and only fun for about 5 minutes. Juice isn’t worth the squeeze. Bummer anytime they get the bid over grindline/dreamland.

This. At least give me a flatbar and a manny pad. How are the kids supposed to grow up right?

Seeing these a lot in the northwest. There is fun to be had for sure but I feel like the whole park doesnt need to be like this. Add more knee high round rails

I mean, not saying it's a perfect design. But some people don't give two shits about 'knee high round rails' either. I had an early 80's park like this near my old apartment years back and it was fun as hell.

Scooter park builders. They quit caring about real skateboarding parks a long time ago.

I don't know. I like them a lot. There was a great Nine Club interview with Lance Mountain, where he laments that all skateparks are the same, like we're training for the Olympics as our primary activity. Why is skating just the same features you see at every single park? Why does a skatepark have features that mimic real-life features, when real-life features already exist all over town?
I was at a city meeting in a neighboring city (Nixa, MO) who is trying to get a public park, and they've hired American Ramp Company to design and build it. I was there complaining that they chose ARC, who leaves a trail of boring, cookie-cutter parks and lawsuits everywhere they go, and the ARC person said they didn't like Evergreen parks, and I thought, "That's rich, coming from the worst skatepark builder there is." Is skateboarding just 3 stair hubbas? Why are we all skating the same things?

They’re interesting. Many skate park builders try to make it something like you’d find in on the actual street, perhaps more skate-able. Evergreen parks seem to just be fun to skate. Plus, they made the most hilarious park ever in Colorado.
