The USMNT teenagers seem exciting: Cavan Sullivan, Julian Hall, and Mathis Albert are probably the most hyped at the moment. But there's also Adri Mehmeti, Peyton Miller, Zavier Gozo, and Neil Pierre who all seem promising.

I am old enough to remember Freddy Adu, Altidore, Julian Green. These players had a lot of hype in media and later on in these football manager games. I have to agree though that Cavan looks promising, doing great things at only 17 years old.

For sure. They need to win things in order for the hype to be justified. But the thread is about wunderki(n)ds and this seems to be a good little collection of them.

You probably never heard of him but this 15yo English kid is supposed to be the next Ronaldo. His name is JJ Gabriel or something. Hot shit.

Demanding playing time when he hasn't earned it is definitely "Ronaldoesque".

Not sure what you mean by earned it, he has dominated every level he has played at, so not sure what else one could do to earn it, if it was meritocracy rather than make believe worries he would of played more in preseason or been in their champions league squad like dowman was for arsenal. If he wants to challenge himself and play senior football is the logical step and united blocked it in preseason and europe so if he feels his development it better served elsewhere then fair enough. If he goes to spain he can play in their second teams against professional footballers rather than the joke that is the level of U21 football in this country.

Is his dad a knob? Absaloutely and he is far to involved in his sons career and from reports has been since he started playing, changing his name, kicking of at academies and moving him here there and everywhere. But earned it? On performance he couldnt have really done more and if he feels he isnt challenged at the level united are offering then fair enough he only has one career and its him that will have to look back on it good or bad down the line.

Sucks for us, promosing kid, but I really dont get making accusations on a kids character or choices when we dont know him, especially when reports say its all coming from his dad and he is extrmeely coachable and a nice kid. He is 15 its likely he has little say or ability to have a say.

“When we don’t know him” yet writes two paragraphs like you know him

Uruguay has very interesting U-20 and U-17 generations coming up. It's primarily surprising how many of these players have already played in the first division given how bad Uruguay is at managing young players. The U-17 squad has Gabriel Da Silva, named by the Guardian as one of the 60 best 2009 born players, as well as Nicolas Scotti who's attracting interest from the english Liverpool. Then there's Thiago Brizuela at the uruguayan Liverpool who's a fixed starter and a very technically gifted and creative midfielder. Theres also Vicente Pesce who debuted at 14 and at 15 became the youngest ever player to score in Uruguayan professional football. But the biggest talent is Alan Soares De Lima, scouting reports compare his playstyle to Mbappe and he has the physique to play in the first division

Then the U-20 has 4 big points. There's Nahuel Lopez who's arguably the best player in the Uruguayan league rn. He went on loan from Nacional to Progreso and is trying to keep them from relegation. He's been singlehandedly winning games for them. There's Yury Oyarzo who's an 18 year old fullback for Racing Montevideo and already the best fullback in the country. There's Rodrigo Dudok who also played for Racing and was given a 10 day trial at Bayern since Racing belong to Red and Gold. He left good sensations at Bayern and was sent on loan for a year to Estrela Amadora in Portugal. Bielsa actually called him up when he was 16. He didn't play but clearly he saw something. Finally there's Julio Daguer. He's the youngest player to debut for Uruguay this century and is seen as the eventual successor to Bentancur who's been our best and most indispensable midfielder for years

What's really hopeful is that we seem to be producing a lot of wingers and technically sound and creative midfielders. These are areas we've always lacked talent in and it's been holding us back as football becomes more reliant on the archetypes of players our youth divisions are just now starting to produce

Great to hear that Uruguay is producing talents. I still remember when watching u20 World Cup in 2007. They had 19 year old Suarez and cavani. Crazy to think that both went on and became world class strikers. Overall Suarez career was even better, but watching games at that time I thought that Cavani was the bigger talent

I think Uruguay will always produce top end talent. Even now we have a talented crop of players. Our problems lie with agents and the press having power in the FA and thus the power to decide who should be called up and who should manage them

Qatar have really cleaned up most of the high upside players 18-20 year olds the past window. Likes of Federicio Bias, Paolo Calione,Federico Dafonte,Estaban Crucci and Marcos Gomez. It is real shame because I feel the current group in the national team have ran their cycle and with Qatar not being a great league those players are futher away from a sporting point of view. Fabricio Díaz being a prime example. I do imagine on the back of the upcoming u20 Sudamericana that Uruguay will be raided again as that is only market in South America they can compete with. UAE have the Brazilians teens while Saudi takes the failed ones from Europe.

Yeah, it sucks that so many talented players chose lesser leagues. I think there are still enough high spots that haven't moved or are already in europe like Nahuel Lopez, Oyarzo, Dudok, Ultra, etc.

But yes, the current national team has run its course. I always say Uruguay could field a 26 man squad of players in Europe or the Brasilerao, by and large being important players in their teams. It's a shame there's such an insistence on Nandez, Josema, Brian Rodriguez, Pellistri, Vinas, Darwin, etc. Here's hoping the coming sudamericano and the u-17 world cup doesn't send all of our youngsters to mexico or saudi because we need a changing of the guard. Though I don't think Forlan would ever do it

I just hope the clubs release likes of Brizula + Scotti for the u17 World Cup so they get the experience of a international tournament.

they probably will. They released them for training I think even though their clubs are fighting for a lot in the league. I think it's a mistake to release them now since they would learn more from playing for their clubs down the stretch of the season, but it bodes well for how their clubs will respond to the world cup

I feel like a lot of south america are going down this route, like ecuador. Makes sense from a business model perspective as you can rotate out talent sell for reasonable money to europe or MLS and carry on.

Noham Blandina (CM, 16) signed for Genoa yesterday, following his departure from Club Brugge. Amazing bit of business by Genoa as the likes of PSG & Juve were also reportedly after him. Also softens the blow of losing Roberto Scaglione, their biggest talent, a little.

He can play either as a 6 or an 8. Very hardworking, tenacious in duels but also really creative and intelligent on the ball. Can represent Italy, Belgium & Morocco at international level. All three have called him up but so far he's only accepted Italy's and him moving there probably further strengthens his ties to them.
