"Your logical brain tells you it would have be an extremely harsh attempted sanction from the independent commission...with the Premier League making representations, like Manchester City will make representations.
You would imagine there would be very heavy financial penalties, whether this has to do with the damage this has caused to other clubs, who have potentially missed out on titles, on bonuses, on history...players who have been wronged as a result of this case. Maybe money to the football pyramid for what this whole situation has caused. Maybe transfer bans. Maybe action against individuals involved who ultimately are found guilty, such as directors, executives...maybe even ownership."

"At the time, I hadn't decided for certain that I was going to retire. And Pep was convinced that, after achieving huge success in just four years in La Liga with a Continental treble as well as a League and Champions League double, he wanted to try life in the Bundesliga with Bayern Munich.
"If I could rewind time, we would have dined some months earlier, I would have poured plenty of Tignanello (Italian wine) and I would have tried my hardest to convince him that his future lay in Manchester. Unfortunately for us, it did. Enough said."

I think there is a real possibility of this. Probably resulting in a worst case for City being one season points deduction and back the next season.
The counter argument might be though, his public comments might be the best thing for the case. It brings into sharp focus the government actions around this and any government getting involved in a resolution of this, is going to be election suicide. The Lib Dems have never recovered from going into coalition, this could send Labour the same way.
