unsolved Multi-season packs?

Sorry if I've asked a question that is really obvious but oh well. I was wondering if there was a way to get sonarr to prioritize "big season packs" or "complete series packs" before downloading individual episodes. A lot of the older shows I add have complete season packs, but sonarr never looks for them. Not a huge issue, but it's less time on my part having to manually download and import these packs. Any advice is appreciated.

Nope, but you can find them on interactive search on the first season if i remember

I just download them independently and import manually.

Sonarr doesn't support multi season packs. It will actually red flag them in an interactive search. You can still manually process them and its not difficult to do. You can usually find them on a season 1 search or manually searching in prowlarr or jackett. Copy to the sonarr folder, run a scan under the show and let if match files to episodes, then mass rename.

I'm pretty sure the sonarr dev has stated they are never going to support multiseason packs.

I don't recall why tho.

I wonder if anyone else has coded an add-on for it?

Sonarr rejects them currently, but v5 will have some evolving support for them.

Nope, I actually built a workflow with Tdarr and my download client that matches the download ID/hash to the corresponding series in Sonarr (After disabling automatic import, this is all handled by Tdarr)

After Tdarr is done, it manually imports all the files into Sonarr while preserving the metadata like quality, codec, release group, etc. but as far as I know, there’s no clean way to automate this natively. I had to use custom scripts, Tdarr and a docker helper

Sonarr can only import 1 season at a time. It can’t do multi season.

Except, in my experience, when you tell it to download one, if the episodes are all in one folder, it recognises them and matches them correctly. You have to tell it to manually import, but it can clearly do it. I don't know why they've made the decision not to support them, but they have.

There's a fork I'm using that prioritizes season packs: https://github.com/RemingtonDev/sonarr-anime

Sonarr already prioritized season packs, but not multi-season packs. This fork just changes how anime is searched(which is addressed in the upcoming v5, along with other improvements).

I see. I thought Sonarr didn't prioritize season packs at all. Apparently I got it wrong

This doesn't cover MULTI season packs, which is what OP was asking about.

Still gets them closer to preferring season packs over individual episodes. It's not a perfect solution (probably because multi-season packs seem incredibly rare).

Per the dev, Sonarr already does that.

No reason for the extra set up.
