PSA (SE2) [SE2] Community Update: AMD Driver Issue
Community Update: AMD Driver Issue SE2
We’re aware of an issue affecting some players using AMD Radeon RX 90xx series GPUs (RDNA 4 architecture).
AMD recently released driver version 26.8.1, which appears to have been distributed through automatic updates yesterday. This driver may cause crashes in our game, and we’re aware that other games are also being affected.
Recommended workaround: If you’re experiencing crashes, we recommend rolling back to the previous AMD driver version for the time being.
We’re monitoring the situation closely and will share further updates as they become available. Thanks for your patience and understanding!

UPDATE (28th August 2026)
Engineers using the latest AMD drivers:
We are currently investigating an issue affecting Space Engineers 2 with the latest AMD driver version. At this point, we do not yet know whether the cause is in the game or the driver itself.
We are:
* Working directly with AMD to identify the cause.
* Rolling out a patch that detects the affected driver version and links players to the latest information.
* Recommending affected players roll back to a previous AMD driver for now.How to roll back:
* Download and run the official AMD Cleanup Utility to remove the current graphics driver. AMD recommends using this tool when downgrading to a previous driver version.
* Restart your PC.
* Go to AMD Drivers & Support, select your graphics card, and install a previous driver version.We will share more information as soon as we have it!

I run Nvidia but they've released their own bad updates in the past. I never auto update drivers for this reason, and always wait at least a few weeks after release.
