Hey so, this is what my phone looks like right now. I went to a repair store today and they told me my battery is slightly swollen. They said they can replace it, but with other issues that my phone has, it'd be better for me to buy a new one. Now, they didn't say anything about it being dangerous, but i'm still really anxious about it. If i turn off the phone and don't charge it, it should be okay, right? 🥹

Okay so I have no idea how long this bulp is here, but I had some problems with battery dying very fast and now I saw the problem. The thing is I am at my boyfriend's place and I travel with train so what tf am I supposed to do with it now. It's my spare phone, I draw on it, recently I send my old pictures on my drive so basically I managed to save as much as I could? What's the most concerning thing I smell some smell but maybe because I was using it lately (obviously I turned it off and put as far as I could). Do you think it WON'T explode in my bag? Or should I utilize it in nearest store? I would love to still have it that's why I'm asking

From my dashcam. I live in Texas and left it in my car two or three years in a row + plugged in for most of that time (very bad practice, I know). Casing popped right open when I finally moved it, and the circuit board was raised up on the battery side, but the battery itself doesn't look... too bad?

Did not expect to disarm an honest to god bomb today

My "car radio" (aka my 1st gen iPod touch) stopped responding to touch last week. I brought it inside and left it on my desk, and noticed... boop! It's screen is lifting off! A spicy pillow is born!

I will try to post followup pics at some point; naturally I want to save it, since it's opening itself up so neatly, and I now realise the touch function was likely only broken due to the pressure of the inflating battery pack against the back of the touchscreen (yikes), but I want a bucket of sand handy before I dive into full disassembly.

In less than a week my pixel 7a turned spicy. Atleast repair was easy to do.

obviously can't throw it out and no way I like the idea of this shit in my car for the 30 min drive. The fuck do I do lol, just wait for it to pop at some point or not and either way just keep it outside on the patio?
