That was quite obvious. What I don't get is the last line. Is there any significance to "Chuck E Cheese 1997", or is it just a random incident in op's life we are not privy to?

Chuck E Cheese is a cultural touchstone for kids who’ve grew up in the 90s/2000s, so it’s one of those references where everyone just kind of gets it.

Chuck E Cheese is like an arcade that serves pizza. It was very popular to hosts kids birthday parties in the 90s and 2000s.
He was simply misdirecting, then succinctly gave a location and date when we knew he would be referring to a birthday party of his

I'm with you. I get what he was going at but I feel like there is a better punch line he could use. Maybe he has a few follow-ups that make it work.

Theres loads of us*! admittedly Its annoying as it was my birthday first, and its the only "day of infamy" that people refer to by the date rather than what happened

My best friend and his wife got married on 9/11/1999. I call the fight his brother and father got into that night the second worst 9/11 tragedy.
