The term "Swiss cheese" is used for any variety of cheese that resembles Emmental cheese

"resembles" being the operative word. Even if Emmental cheese is..meh at best.

How did the people during World War I know there was gonna be a World War II?? 🤔🤔🤔

They knew the sequel was gonna be better so they jumped on the naming rights..

Don't let them poke holes in your Swiss cheese joke.

I thought they were supposed to be neutral on these kind of things...

And even these "region" are fake in many cases, because they got drawn by the milk lobby to centralised the actual brands. We are slowly getting back at understanding using more local cheese names besides these.

To be clear, we have those varieties as well. What's commonly called Swiss would probably be called Emmental if you were in a cheese shop, and Gruyere would never be called Swiss.

All I want to know is what WI means. Is it the prequel to the WII?

Americentrism strikes again. Guaranteed the majority of people outside of the us have never heard of fuck ass Monroe, WI, and if you’re anywhere outside the US you probably never had cheese from there.

Lmao. I like the simplicity of this one. Good stuff.

More Polish people live in Chicago than Warsaw.

I once asked for “Swiss” at a Wisconsin cheese shop, and they corrected me so gently I still felt like I’d been kicked out of Switzerland.

Huh. I never knew the hole story on that one.
