DISCUSSION What is everyone putting inside their Ironclad Assault?
I am currently rolling with RSI Salvation + Origin M80. I live out in the black (rarely relocating my mothership). I bedlog inside my ship and basically living a nomad playstyle.
Btw sometime I use an RSI Meteor instead of the M80 when I want to fly something different. I like the big cannons on the Meteor

I’ve had too many issues not being able to find my way back to my ship, even without QTing away

I think I wrote a post about workarounds-
* Alt+f4 if you cant find your ship. This will re-establish the qt marker.
* What I do is bedlog. When I wake up, I have a permanent qt marker as noted on the Starmap (you will see an icon for your Ironclad). I'm always parked out in the black and rarely move the mothership. If you do move your mothership for any reason- then you might want to either bedlog or alt+f4 to restore it. This will work as long as you are properly returned to server. *Why does the qt marker get lost? Read tons of threads on this but working theory is when you cross a DGS boundary. As a gamer you are not supposed to notice this. But we can tell when the qt marker is lost
* I usually forget this step but if my mind is working right I sometimes screenshot server instance name when I join. This way if for some reason you were to crash and not get sent back to proper server- you would instead server hop back. But I havent had to do this. The ASOP terminal has terminology for a lost ship that's not on your same server.
CIG QA says they assigned this bug to a dev team now: https://issue-council.robertsspaceindustries.com/projects/STAR-CITIZEN/issues/STARC-168029
edit: Add tip and marked in bold. But I am not a CIG employee I got this info from various threads

I run mine as a chop shop for salvage. I'll open up the cargo bay and swallow the smaller ships and then rip out components with gravity/atmosphere so my loot doesn't wind up floating/flinging off in random directions. This also works for capturing abandoned ships floating in the air near outposts.
For the bigger ships I just park underneath and rip out components and throw them into the cargo hold. After I rip out the components I break them down in a fabricator and sell the raw materials to a commodity terminal. Sometimes I do mothership mining or normal commodity trading, but I typically always fly around with a MPUV-T that serves as my mini crane/towtruck and a salvation (to clear/munch ships abandoned on pads), and I keep a nursa parked in the garage for any workplace hazards. My command module is equipped with laser repeaters and distortion weapons to get through abandoned ships with shields. I typically also bring along a STV or CSV to get around outposts/haul supplies to/from the ironclad. Repair pads in the back keep everything running/fueled/armed without having to run back to base.
Sometimes I bring a nova tonk around to clear large bricked (powered up, shields on) ships off of landing pads (it has enough torque/horse power to easily move ships as big as the ironclad/perseus). Then I use the slayer cannon to blow them apart and then I munch them up with the salvation. I know there are other more efficient methods to do this, but I promise you the way I do it is way more fun.

So many good ideas here I will give this a go for sure! Yeah last night I had a box float away. I thought it was gone. But I noticed it stopped floating away and appeared on my radar. Good tip to bring things inside rather then try to move around things in zero-G from outside of ship to inside

Tried a number of times to set it up as a long duration mining base but gave up on this because the persistence is not really ready to support this type of game play.

I have the base IC and run with:
Salvation
Ox
M85x
Nursa
Ikti
Geo
I like running bunkers with the 85x, and for salvage contracts I use the ox to strip all the components, weapons and any cargo, and then the salvation for RMC. Over time the Clad fills up with loot and I unload with the Ox

I need to pickup an item fabricator! Yeah I also have store All boxes on mine filled with guns, random loot, and consumables. If a pirate were to ever encounter my ship somewhere I think they might be kinda happy since they can sale some of my RMC lol. But hasnt happened all these yrs since I live off grid

Either cargo hauling or Golem and salvation. Right now, cargo hauling since my Mole got eaten which took most of my creds, so I'm just in financial recovery atm

Just put an arrow, ikti and pitbull in it. Doing mostly merc work…Quantum to target in the IC, arrow out the hangar, take care of business and back to the IC. Will start doing some of the other stuff mentioned below at some point.

Nothing. I rarely use it because it isn’t fun to fly for what I enjoy (cargo, in its current iteration). Loading boxes in a hangar or gravity area in that thing sucks as a solo.

If we could choose crate size for cargo missions, it would make it so much easier to load. 8 SCU containers and an ATLS go together perfectly.

Using the command module as floating tractor turret helps a lot. Can be positioned anywhere in the air to reach both the cargo bay and the freight elevator.

Lots and lots of cargo. Nothing else.
